With Perry being as quiet as he has been lately, and Arthur finding himself in something of a rut with his inmate (he wasn't quite sure how to proceed without introducing the PASIV, and given Perry's... many issues, he wasn't willing to do that until his inmate trusted him more), time on the Barge was beginning to drag for the point man. There was action, sometimes, but it wasn't the same as the rush he got from his work as an extractor. Lately, he was beginning to feel like he was just wasting his time here. Sure, even before the Barge, it wasn't like he worked 24-7. There were long stretches between jobs where he had nothing to do, and even when he was in the middle of planning for a big job-- even with the Fischer job-- he still had down time for a few hours in each day. But on the Barge, it felt... different. Like if he wasn't doing Perry any good, then he wasn't doing Cobb any good. Then what the fuck was he doing here?
The downtime was driving him crazy.
So, he tried to fight it off, keep himself occupied. This included a heavy workout session in the gym, a long run in the CES and some sparring-- followed by a cup of coffee in the dining hall, as he relaxed and popped a couple of Advil to help ease the pain in his fists. He'd gone at it a little too hard today. Still, it was a good enough distraction to keep him occupied before heading back to his cabin and resume work on his game plan for Perry.
Which was what he did until about give more hours and another meal passed.
Now? It was time to sit at the pub and enjoy a few quiet drinks.
