[OOC: Vila will try to pickpocket anyone he meets, unless you tell me not to let him. I'm up for him just talking to people. But if he is allowed to attempt it, it's up to you if he succeeds and what he gets. He

Mid Morning - On the Deck

Vila lurked, watching people as they passed by. He was on the hunt for a pocket or maybe a stray wristwatch. He didn't dare hope there were people who had useful things in their pockets.

Drake, meanwhile, was walking on the deck. He had nothing in his pockets, but he was wearing some rings, earrings, and a necklace. His pockets, however, were completely empty.

Vila happily stepped out of his lurking spot, looking non-chalant, and stepped up to join Drake. "It's a good morning for a walk, isn't it?" He asked. He was wondering if he still had a light enough touch to go for jewelry. That took skill, and he knew he was out of practice. But that's what this was. Practice!

"Yeah, I guess. I mean, it's not like there are bad mornings for a walk. It doesn't rain here or anything." Drake was, of course, oblivious to anything the other man might be plotting.

"There are plenty of bad mornings for a walk," Vila countered. "It's just not the fault of the morning." He waved his hands a bit, trying to emphasize his point.

"Yeah, I guess. Like on mornings when the ship's overrun with Aztecs." He barely noticed the hand waving. Drake tended to do a bit of hand waving himself when he talked.

"Aztecs? Do I even want to know?" Vila gaped, but that didn't stop his fingers from moving toward one of Drake's, meaning to test how snug those rings were.

"Probably not." They were pretty traumatic for a lot of people, after all. Then he felt a finger touch his skull ring, which was pretty snug. Normally he wouldn't notice, but that ring was connected to his magic, so he noticed it more. He jerked his hand back. "Did you just reach for my skull ring?"

Vila jerked back too. "No," he lied. "Why would I do a think like that?" Inside, he called himself a few names. That was clumsy. He was very much out of practice.

"I wasn't." Saying it twice makes it true. Vila smiled, patently falsely, at the odd little man.

"Right." He balled his hand into a fist to make the ring harder to steal in the future. "You know, the ring won't do anything for anyone but me. It's bound to my magic."
