Drake's in a bed, examining his nails. The nailpolish is chipped, but there's nothing in the infirmary that he can fix them with.

"Hey, can I go yet? I think I'll be fine now."

Sure, his neck still had the scabbed over wounds from the glass and razor that had cut it, and of course his head was still healing from hitting a doorway and being hit by a large painting and a mirror falling on it, the latter breaking when it did so, but other than knowing he looked terrible with his bruises and cuts, he figured he'd be okay. Besides, he had to see if he could cover some of this with make-up.

Martha looked at her patient with a deep frown, watching him as he watched his nails. "I've got some nail polish remover in the office if you'd like it, but Drake, I don't think you're quite ready to be out of here."

She nodded firmly for a moment and then looked to his neck. "How are you feeling?

"You wouldn't happen to have any black nail polish too, would you?" He asked, then added, "It hurts. It's not going to scar, is it?

"Not that I can think of at the moment, but I can try and find some if you'd like me to." Martha shrugged for a moment, and then she looked to the man's neck. "It could be. I think it probably will. I'm sorry."

"Yeah, I'd like that. If you don't have black, dark blue or purple would work, too."

That bothered him. He didn't want to get any scars. "I guess I'll just have to wear scarves." He wouldn't let anyone see a physical flaw on him, though. Tattoos were one thing, he chose those, scars were another. "Is Arthas here? I don't know what his thing was, but knowing him, it was probably pretty bad."

"I know I've got some purple, and I expect some blue as well. If I don't have any in the office, I can pop down to my room and grab it there."

Martha frowned when he mentioned the scarves. "It might not be that bad you know. We won't know until it heals a bit more."

When he mentioned Arthas, Martha drew his attention to a bed with a subtle movement of her head.

"I hope it doesn't."

He sat up and looked. He probably shouldn't get up at that moment to see him. Arthas didn't look that responsive at the moment, anyway. He'd have to remember to ask Arthas what happened later, so Arthas could evade his questions like he usually did.

"I hope it doesn't for your sake as well."

Martha's opinion on scars was that they told you the story of the things that you'd overcome in your life. She didn't quite like her scars, not yet but she had accepted them.

"I expect he'll be up soon, don't you worry."

Drake nodded, hoping she was right.

After spending most of the previous night and all morning asleep, Rinzler is in a wary doze now.

Every time Martha happens to move anywhere close to his bed, or make a significant noise, the Program wakes all the way up and stares after her. O hai. What are you doing out there?

When Rinzler looked up at her with that same expression, Martha smiled quickly, and she placed her hand on his shoulder. "It's alright, Rinzler, you're safe in the infirmary. Do you need anything?"

He glanced down at the hand on his shoulder, as if uncertain about what it was doing there, then back up at her. His perpetual growl shifted, dropped tempo down to something nearly like a cat's purr--if that cat were the size of a leopard.

He looked back up at her and shook his head: No. He just needed to know what was going on.

When the growl turned into a purr, Martha smiled at him again and she considered for a moment. "You know you're death tolling yeah? You'll be alright in a couple of days. Can you let me know if you're in pain? If you are I can give you something to help."
