Lat's say MONDAY IN THE MESS HALL AT LUNCH?peektuttutApril 25 2011, 18:56:25 UTC
[It was a nice day. Well, they didn't really have days, but it still seemed like it would be a nice day, if he went and checked the CES or something. He wasn't whistling when he headed in for lunch, but there was a little spring in his step. Grabbing a tray, he looked around for someone to sit with - maybe he should've asked Dick or Sylar to come eat with him. But they weren't around, and he headed for an empty table to dig into his sandwich.]
[Rex is looking for a place to sit, somewhere he can be alone and enjoy his thoughts, explore new theories in his notebook, things like that... As far as he's concerned, it's a perfectly pleasant way to spend his afternoon. And besides, sitting alone means that he can people-watch. He may not be terribly good at social interaction, but he's always so curious about others.
Feeling quite contented, he reaches the nearest empty table... at the same time Tim does. Right, the Doctor's other closest companion. In the past, Rex might have felt jealous of that, but no more! He sets his tray down, smiling somewhat awkwardly, because he's still kind of lame around other people.]
I hope you don't mind if I...? [He gestures to the seat.]
[Tim glanced up as Rex hit the table with him, and he offered a quick smile as he sat, gesturing to the seat Rex was standing in front of.] No, please! I didn't really want to eat alone anyway. How've you been doing, Rex? [Since the whole...operation thing. That's a big deal.]
[He sat down and poked at his meal with a fork.] Good, thank you. The flood was largely uneventful for me-- not to mention, it didn't have much of a lesson to offer me. [Really, regressing him to his teenage years? Pffth. He looked up from his tray curiously.] What about you?
[AFTER LUNCH AND AFTER DRAC CHECKS THE INFIRMARY FOR HIM...]feels_no_loveApril 26 2011, 02:22:34 UTC
Dracula couldn't find the man whom young Rex had turned into by searching the common areas, so eventually he went to the kitchen, where everyone went eventually, and started following his nose.
It wasn't all that likely that Aleera had molested the youth, but...even if he had become a selfish bastard in his adult years, Dracula admired Rex's intelligence. He didn't like the idea of him laid up in the hospital wing because Vlad had steered him into harm's way after encouraging Aleera. Fortunately that was not the case, but hopefully there had been no stalking or spooking either.
He finally found one of the hallways where the scent was fresh, and saw the Doctor up ahead. He raised a hand in greeting to get the man's attention, but hung back until he knew that Rex actually wanted company.
Rex, fresh from eating lunch, was walking down the corridor, about to head to the library for some more books. He paused in his steps once he saw a figure further down the hall, quickly recognizing him as Dracula. Despite his history with vampires, everything Armand (and Damon and Nicolas and, through his cover-ups, Louis...) had done to him, Rex didn't hold it against them as a whole. He wasn't even leery of their presence, really, as he understood: vampires act within their nature. No different than any other predator... He admired them, in fact, to a degree.
"Hello," he said, offering a slight smile. There wasn't much feeling behind it. It was largely offered out of politeness's sake.
"I was," he answered, his expression slipping to one of neutrality. "I stayed in an acquaintance's room for the duration. It was perfectly safe." He paused. "And yourself?"
TUESDAY AFTERNOON // DECKgreatlightotherApril 26 2011, 10:47:42 UTC
[Sveta leaned against the railing, checking her watch every couple of minutes. She was making herself step away from the infirmary, but it was difficult to do when she was so attached to that place. She had almost decided to give up on this "taking a break" nonsense when she saw Rex. She frowned a bit at her first inclination to return right then and there, but...didn't act on it.]
Afternoon, Rex. [She gave him a wary smile, trying to be nice.] How are you feeling today? [She knew that he had been affected by the past flood and only hoped no one had taken advantage of that situation.]
Re: TUESDAY AFTERNOON // DECKstopthat_destroApril 26 2011, 13:15:41 UTC
[Rex looked at Sveta, then gave her a polite nod as he approached the railing. Certainly, they'd clashed in the past, but he made an effort of letting it go. Of course, with the nanomites, it was he who now wronged her-- if one chose to look at it that way. Rex certainly didn't. There had been nothing personal about it; it was just... A practical decision on his part. He forced a smile.]
Sveta. I'm feeling quite well, thank you. The flood was a bit dull, of course-- I've no interest in reliving the past. And yourself?
Re: TUESDAY AFTERNOON // DECKgreatlightotherApril 26 2011, 15:11:12 UTC
[She was always a little nervous with Rex. Even before the nanomites. With her innocence mostly gone, she didn't automatically assume the best about some people. She was pickier with her blind faith.]
I wasn't hit at all. [A small laugh.] Possibly because my past is as standard as they come. [Pause.] Except for the...Soviet upbringing and all.
Re: TUESDAY AFTERNOON // DECKstopthat_destroApril 27 2011, 02:17:36 UTC
For the best, I suppose, given the recent flood with the children. One would hate to feel like these are becoming repetitive. [Doop doop totally neutral.]
Let's say... DINNER ON TUESDAYhatestrianglesApril 26 2011, 15:10:39 UTC
[So the new and improved temper-free Perry walks into the dining hall in the middle of the dinner rush, gets a big plate of food and picks a relatively-empty table at random to sit down at. Too bad he doesn't pay attention to who else is sitting at the table until he's already started eating. This might get awkward.]
[Rex is drinking some water, happily reading a fancy new science book, when he realizes somebody else has joined him. Frowning just a touch, he looks up...
And then freezes. Total deer in the headlights moment.]
[Perry looks up in time to catch the deer in headlights expression. Oh. Wow. Whoops. SO VERY MUCH THE WRONG TABLE.]
Oh, hey, shit, I- [Wince.] Uh, I can... [He waves a hand awkwardly over his shoulder, indicating that he can leave. But, there really aren't that many empty seats.]
No, it's fine. [He bit that out a little sharply, as he was trying to convince himself more than anything. He couldn't let Perry get to him-- it wasn't productive. Fear, hatred, anger, those were all distractions.]
How about.....A RANDOM CORRIDOR ON TUESDAY?inhumandogApril 26 2011, 21:37:29 UTC
[Iago, his more honest self basking in the glory that is knowing your warden did something inappropriate, whistled as he walked through the corridors on his way back to his room. He had a quill in his hands and was casually spinning it between his palms as he walked.
Passing by Rex in the hallway, he reached out to put a hand on his arm.]
I am so glad I found you. I have questions for you.
[Iago took advantage of that situation to drape an arm across his shoulders. WHY YOU GOTTA LET HIM GET AWAY WITH STUFF?]
Well...you never did sufficiently explain to me what a 'frat brother' is. [Basically, he was bored and wanted someone to bother...and Rex was his first target.]
A member of a fraternal organization. [He chuckled softly.] They're typically social groups for boys who enjoy getting drunk and throwing parties. You'd enjoy it.
