Beach - Morning raisedinabox April 18 2011, 02:17:21 UTC
[Jim didn't really get the chance to go to the beach much as a child, so he more associates all this sand with his zen garden than anything else. Which is good because it means he can get in a little meditation this morning He's got a few pieces of fruit waiting on a nearby rock for when he's ready for breakfast, but until then? He's just chilling, focusing on his breathing, and getting his Zen on.]

Beach - (next) DISCLAIMER: SOMETIMES JIM CONFUSES ZEN AND SOCIOPATHY C: raisedinabox April 18 2011, 18:35:41 UTC
[When he notices that he's not alone on the beach, Jim stretches his arms out and pushes himself up to his feet. The sand shifts below him, coating his calves as he gets up, before he approaches the other man.]

Hey. You're from the Barge?

Beach - (next) day - That might be better :c raisedinabox April 18 2011, 19:39:57 UTC
[Jim accepts Charlie's hand, and gives it a firm shake.]

Jim Profit. I'm pleased to meet you.

[He certainly doesn't mind the chattiness, in fact there's something quite charming about that distracted, slightly awkward quality he's got.]

'Nothing is really here, and all we have is now' was that? I hope I haven't interrupted any early morning affirmations.

[Jim has quite a bit of faith in the power of positive thinking, although telling yourself that nothing was real might not have worked quite so well in his case. Corporate ambition required a little faith in the existence of your companies products.]

Beach - (next) day - Being Zennish doesn't help him bust crimes? :c raisedinabox April 18 2011, 20:14:43 UTC
[Jim slips his hands into his pockets, raising his eyebrows.]

Ah, you're a philosopher then? I haven't interrupted, I've just... arrived then? I am what the present now happens to have provided?

Re: Beach - (next) day - It does... until it doesnt :P raisedinabox April 18 2011, 21:29:36 UTC
[Jim gives a slight 'huh', his expression turning mildly concerned.]

I hope that you weren't stranded on a desert island. I could imagine this all bringing back some less than pleasant memories, if that was the case.

[Jim watches the reaction closely, tilting his head back slightly before continuing.]

In that case I'm guessing either a painful stint in the navy or... probably more likely, prison?

Well... [Jim gives a wry smile, and shrugs one shoulder.] ...Normally joining the navy is consensual. A self imposed sentence, if you will.

Normally those committing crimes hope to get away with them, though.

[He pauses then, and smiles.]

You know, I don't tend to hear naval men sounding quite that regretful.

[He didn't really tend to talk to naval men at all, but Prison was the juicier option for where Charlie had been.]

I suppose the fact that we're talking about this in uncertain terms at all means you're a warden?
