ENGINE ROOM BREAK-IN

[Bad-guys get past the defenses and Harper gets to go fight Data.]

Once they reached the entrance to the engine room, Rex turned to his (soon to be former) warden.

"I believe this is your time to shine, Harper," he said, all smugness and smirks for now. With a grand gesture, he motioned to the door.

DATA + WTF ARE YOU DOING, HARPER?!

Data was in the middle of doing some maintenance, trying not to think about what was happening to Victor. Trying not to thin about what was happening to Martha. Which was admittedly hard when you had 60 trillion processes of information tracing through your net per second, so unless he pass encoded the material there was no way he was capable of avoiding the subject.

But then, suddenly, there were invaders entering the far end of the engine room. He didn't know who it was, but he did know he didn't have his phaser on him, and that O'Brien wasn't exactly as tough as the O'Brien that he knew. Stop them for the good of the ship? Or save O'Brien like the sad little individual that he was.

He'd opt for saving the individual. Just give him a moment to frantically disable a few bits of machinery so whoever it was coming in forcefully wouldn't exactly have a hard time of getting into this part of the engine room.

Harper had to admit, there were some nice security setups in place here. For someone less brilliant they probably could have taken weeks to crack through. Harper was actually a little surprised that he was getting though them as quickly as he was, but every time he hit a new step to disassembling them? It was like he automatically knew how to take it apart. After a moments work, he stepped aside with a flourish, to let Rex and the bodyguards through into the engine room, before stepping through ahead of the others.

He was fairly sure that he'd taken out most of the defenses, but still, if he was wrong then it was better that he took the brunt of it than Rex.

Stepping through, he caught sight of movement in the far end of the engine room, and automatically reached for his force lance.

"Is someone back there?"

Of course there would be somebody there. With Tosh under control, he really only had to worry about... hm. Data and O'Brien. Rex glanced over sharply, then motioned for the next set of defenses. "Take care of that. When you're finished... kill him." If it was O'Brien, Rex figured there wouldn't be much of a threat. Data? Well... that was a different story. Still, Rex enjoyed turning friends against each other, and he was still angry enough with Harper to do it.

[Slade kills spiderbot (sob), Buffy and co. run into him, fight any NeoVipers/Cobra Agents that happen to be around? OPEN.

[Knowing that countermeasures were being organized by the unaffected ones, Slade offered to guard the door to the engine room as an extra precaution. In reality, his intentions were exactly the opposite. Having noticed the small bot scurrying about (another security measure, no doubt), he waited for the appropriate moment to short it out with a brief surge of power.

Now, it's just a matter of waiting for the cavalry to come rushing in so he can put an end to this farce.]

I'm assuming he told Buffy his name at some point?

[Buffy runs towards the explosion, a diagonal slice along her torso already, bleeding into her shirt. It looks worse than it is. With scythe in hand, she instantly turns into a defensive position, holding up a hand to halt Kon... Who is flying along behind her.

Slade? [She asks, looking at the exploded bot and back to the stranger in front of her.]

[Kon scowls and crosses his arms. He knows this guy, and he does not like him being here.]

Deathstroke.

TAKE DOWN

[BATTLE ROYALE.]

And so, Rex fiddled with some of the [SCIENTIFIC STUFF] in the engine room, preparing to infect the Barge, as his bodyguards kept watch for intruders. Should they fail, for whatever reason, he had Ms. Parker's gun on him, hidden by his coat. He had no qualms shooting.

[A large explosion rocked the entrance of the engine room as it was effectively blasted off its hinges. Striding through with the rest of the company in tow, Slade scanned the room for Rex and his bodyguards, electricity gathering at his fingertips. It didn't matter who they were; Slade wouldn't hesitate to take each and every last one of them out.]

[And Rex whirled around to see the cavalry arrive. He spared a brief moment for a growl of frustration, but that was quickly replaced by an impenetrable wall of smugness.]

Do you really think you can stop me now? You're too late.

[That's a lie. He pointed at them, in classic Cobra Commander fashion, and shouted:] Kill them. Kill them all!

[His balance thrown for only a second by the explosion, Perry was already moving forward in a full blitz, ready to neutralise the threat, when Rex spoke. The orders just confirmed his intention. While he moved, his hands sprouted sparks of electricity. The powers weren't his strong point, but they'd add sting, and the first person he encountered would get an electric suckerpunch right to the middle of the face. He wasn't holding back.]
