Noon - Dining Hall

[Rooster has just rolled himself out of bed. There's no good reason to be up with the sun, as there isn't an inmate to tend to - and there isn't a sun. He's just getting in to the dining hall now. By god, there's a lot of food.]

This was not the shift Vila worked, so he felt pretty comfortable just finding a place to sit with someone to talk to.

Well, maybe. The man didn't look that scary, but eye-patches always made him think of Travis.]

You're, uh, not a bounty hunter are you?

[What an odd way to start a conversation, even for Rooster. He turns his one good eye on the other man.]

I'm a U.S. Federal Marshal.

[And, of course, that says it all for him. It's close enough to being a bounty hunter.]

Is there a bounty on your head?

Noon - Dining Hall

[Vila flinches and starts fiddling with his food.] Probably not anymore. I'm dead, or so they say. I'm not sure I believe it, because I still to eat an awful lot for a dead person.

[He sneaks a glance sideways at Rooster, as if he'll be less scary that way.] There was a man I once knew... of. He was an officer at first, but then he got cut loose and was more of a bounty hunter. He lost an eye, too.

Afternoon - CES

[With nothing better to do with his time, Rooster is spending time in the CES. It's a nice clearing by a creek for him today, and he's considering asking the Admiral for that horse again. After all, he could always keep it on the main deck of an evening.]

Evening - Dining Hall

[Rooster eats like a pig. All fingers and bread-dipping and no manners. But the food here is excellent. His compliments to the chef.]

Rooster stares owlishly at the napkins, then turns his attention to the kid handing them over. Insults about his eating habits and waters on a duck's back and all that. He goes back to his eating without accepting the offer.

After a moment, he glances at Aaron again and motions rather aggressively with one dirty hand to the seat at his table. "Well, are you going to stand there waiting for an invitation or are you going to sit down? Unless you're going to eat standing up."
