MORNING - BREAKFAST most_feared February 13 2011, 16:39:19 UTC
[Ever since he last saw Uhura his breakfasts have been lonelier. But while he's finishing up his morning coffee over his now emptied plate, he can try to focus on Barge cases. He needs to find a few people to talk to them about what's going on with a few Barge issues. The man is a workaholic and he'll implode if he has nothing to do.

In the meantime, coffee and writing some sort of information down in his notepad. Only the words definitely aren't in any language from Earth.]

AFTERNOON - CREEPERING AROUND THE INFIRMARY most_feared February 13 2011, 16:42:51 UTC
[Kay's never been good with those pesky emotion things. He knows he has them. He knows they're not quite right- they help him shoot criminals in the face when he needs to, and he doesn't feel guilty afterwards. He has a nice sense of detachment and mixed understanding that allows him to do his job with an air of professionalism.

Only now he's kind of stalking the infirmary wondering what the fuck he's doing and who he should be talking to. Whether he should be talking things over with Howie or just fucking let it go, because he's part of the normal world and Kay isn't, or if he should try to see what exactly happened to that cop his first ten minutes here. Or if he should be talking to anyone at all. He lingers by the door for a bit, pondering seeking someone out, and also contemplating heading back into the halls to make rounds.]

"Did you need something?"

Elphaba, who was currently working as a nurse in the infirmary, had noticed Kay lurking by the doorway for a while now, which seemed to be rather odd behavior.

Damn. He'd been noticed. But how could she not notice him, really? He was being shamefully and embarrassingly obvious. He didn't even have a clue how to respond. So he responded with everything. "Yes. No. Maybe. I don't know."

It was rather odd behavior. He took in a tight breath and tucked his hands in his pockets. He could just ask her maybe. "How are the death toll victims doing? Do you know?"

"Fine. Well, as fine as one would expect, anyway. There's nothing unusual in their recovery."

EVENING - THE USUAL DECK TRIP most_feared February 13 2011, 16:45:35 UTC
[In the evening, Kay is up on the deck as he usually is. He's thinking of stopping by the greenhouse and seeing if they have some doll's eye plants. Maybe he can get some at the next decent port if there aren't any. For a little while he's going to just stand next to the railing and look out at the beautiful skies.

Besides, now he has to talk to Cooper about those files he'd given him. He's read the already himself (he read them before passing them along to Cooper) and he hopes like hell mentioning some things will put everything in perspective.]

[Dick was sort of in a funk. Between the Hayley thing, the flood, the stuff that had happened with Howie, the... let's go with discussion he'd had with Costigan about it, helping take care of Hoffman's body and getting that situation under control, not to mention Steph leaving for a couple days, he was sort of in a weird place and not entirely sure what he was supposed to be doing with himself. A real sense of restlessness had kicked in, and he wasn't really sure what to do about it. It wasn't like he had a city he could run around patrolling or something.

So for want of anything better to do, he'd just sort of been pacing around the Barge, trying to find stuff to distract himself with. Now, on deck in the evening, he was still just as frustrated as he'd been earlier in the day, but at the sight of a familiar face, he immediately headed over, coming to stand next to Kay at the railing and following his gaze out over the edge of the Barge.] See anything fun out there?

[Everything had went downhill damn fast, that was for sure, and he was caught in the middle of a bunch of it. Kay glanced over when he noticed someone walk up, but once he was pretty sure it wasn't someone that would try to brain him he looked back out over space.]

Possibility for a lotta fun. Nothing I recognize, though. There's a lotta these stars that could host any number of telluric planets capable of supporting life. [He folded his hands together.]

Rough week, huh?

[Dick had done his fair share of interacting with aliens and alien worlds, and when Kay brought it up, he squinted and thought for a moment about what could actually be out there. Arthur had suggested that there were other Barges for more alien lifeforms, since the only thing most of the occupants of this one seemed to have in common was their relatively humanoid appearance, and he supposed it was entirely possible that there were other Barges somewhere out there.

At the mention of the week itself, the vigilante considered lying about it, brushing it off like everything was fine, what are you talking about, rough week, this was cake, but eventually just let out a soft chuckle of agreement.]

Yeah, definitely a rough one. Glad it's over. [Not that that really meant anything here. Things would continue on the way they had been probably indefinitely, and just because these problems would be behind them didn't mean there weren't more to come and be had.]

LATE - LIBRARY AND CABIN most_feared February 13 2011, 16:47:07 UTC
[He stops by the library to hunt up some books to take back to his cabin, just a few to keep busy on his downtime. He tried to find some books on some non-Earth ancient civilizations, but ended up with a few James M. Cain books to take up his time.

Well, a man can't be all work and no entertainment.]

[Sylvanas is prowling around the library, examining books. She'll pause, take one down that catches her eye, and then replace it. Apparently stalking Arthas 24/7 isn't all she's doing. She pauses, ears perking just slightly as she picks up the presence of someone else. She turns toward him, cloak swirling rather dramatically.]

I see I am not the only one searching for something a bit more stimulating than staring at a wall.

[Or a door, in her case.]

[And there was the pretty and very dramatic lady with a hate on for the super-zombie. He nodded to her as he glanced at his books.] I usually find somethin' to do. This place gives you a lot of down time.

[He comes over toward her and extends a hand.] Sylvanas, right? I'm "K".

If it is truly a prison, I imagine they wants us bored out of our skulls.

[She doesn't trust K in the least. He's one of the wardens. He's an enemy - of a sort. But he might be useful. She stares at the end for a moment, almost like it was some sort of rather disgusting insect, and then dips her head in the slightest of nods.]

Lady Sylvanas, yes.

[Chang is on his own today, in his exercise outfit, seemingly idly performing his mok'bara movements. Of course, none of it is idle at all, it takes concentration to do it properly and Chang does all things properly.]

[Kay comes in, planning to do some exercises, but ends up watching the Klingon for a while. He's usually pretty interested in non-human fighting styles. He doesn't interrupt for a bit, waiting for an opportunity to do so where he doesn't look engrossed, before he finally decides to speak up.] Been a while.

[Chang had just finished that particular series when K interrupted. He nodded.] Port. You are well?
