But shrapnel is shrapnel

Who: Cissie and Sylar
When: After this fight with Tim
Where: The deck
What: Cissie is pissed and hurting; Sylar finds her taking it out on the snow.
Warnings: ...See above.

Cissie was angry. More than angry, she was hurt. She didn't know what to do with herself; she felt like she might explode. She wanted to scream, to hit things, or alternately to curl up and cry and never move. She had too much energy for that, however, and she didn't feel like going to the gym like she usually did when she had this much bottled up emotion to release.

It wasn't the fact that Tim had a girlfriend that was bothering her. It was that he hadn't told her. For months. And that he had told other people first. It was exactly what she'd expect if they were back home, where they hadn't talked in ages and everyone had forgotten she even existed. But here? She thought they were closer than that. She could have handled that and gotten over it, if it hadn't been for the things he'd said later. His words about what he'd done, and by extension what she'd done... Even if he hadn't meant to hurt her, he had. It was like a double betrayal, because he had always been the only person supportive of her decisions back when she quit.

On the deck, she resisted the urge to punch or kick or maim some of the Justice League snowmen Stephanie had made. She knew they were all in fun, but right now, she didn't want any kind of reminder of superheroes and the life she'd left. She stalked to the end of the deck, as far from them as she could get and crossed her arms against the cold. Then she scooped up a handful of snow, made a snowball and hurled it off the end of the Barge with a wordless shout.

That felt good. So she did it again. And again, until she wasn't shouting anymore, but grunting in exertion as she threw snowballs with as much force as she could into the abyss. She was so involved in her angry one-sides snowball fight that she didn't notice anyone approaching.
