Mal had hoped to ride out the outage quietly and without dealing with anyone else any more than she had to, but now she was hungry and cold and she finally resigned herself to the fact that moving towards warmth, light, and food was the only sensible thing to do. So now she had left what she still thought of as the safety of her cabin (for all that there was nothing there anymore) and was making her way to join Angelica in the infirmary, carefully picking her way along in what dim light had been provided by those with the power to do so.
