I realized I had logs to post for Molly and Steph today, so I thought I'd just do one of these and hoarde everyone's attention instead. :D As per usual--comment to

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie needs to visit her friend and see how she's doing now that Murphy's gone, so she makes her way to level eight and knocks on her door.

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

There is an explosion just as Cissie finishes knocking, followed by a loud barking. "Damn, damn DAMN!" comes Molly's voice. "Why didn't you warn me I was adding too much quicksilver? Don't give me that 'I can't talk' excuse..." The door jerks opened and a billow of smoke escapes the room into the corridor.

"Cissie!" Molly grins at her, obviously happy to see her, despite the smudges of soot on her face and in her hair. "Don't worry about the smoke--it's not toxic. I think."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie leans back to try avoiding the smoke, coughing when she's not entirely successful. She raises her eyebrows at Molly, taking in her appearance. "What are you doing in there?"

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

She grimaces slightly. "Working on a potion for wakefulness. I think I was a little heavy-handed with the quicksilver and..." she motions vaguely behind her. "Boom." She throws a mock-glare over her shoulder. "Someone could have warned me a little better."

Mouse barks and comes into view, wagging his tail happily when he sees Cissie.

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie laughs and kneels down to greet Mouse. She grins at Molly. "You do know I have no idea what you just said, right?"

She turns back to Mouse, kissing the top of his head. "Do you know what she's talking about, boy?"

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

He wags his tail happily, and Molly makes a harrumphing noise. "He's playing ignorant. Don't believe him." She flaps her hand at the clearing air. "Want to come in? I can leave the door opened to let it air out a bit, though it's mostly breathable in here again."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie laughs and gives Mouse a little more attention before standing up and brushing dog hair away. "Mostly breathable works. Who needs completely breathable anyway?"

She follows Molly in and peers at the remains of the potion. "What were you trying to do again?"

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

She sighs, looking at the mess in the corner that's set up to look like her work space in Harry's basement. She'll need to clean that up--she hates having a mess there, and not just because she likes to be organized. Sloppy wizards can become dead wizards pretty quickly. "It was supposed to be a potion to keep someone up for a full twenty-four hours."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie lets out a low whistle at that. "That sounds like a pretty useful potion. ...I'm guessing it wasn't supposed to explode like that, huh?"

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

"Not really," she says with a sigh. "I'll work on it. Later." She grins over at her. "So, what brings you all the way down here?"

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie moves to sit on the edge of Molly's bed, shrugging. "I just thought I'd come visit. See how you're doing."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

She raises an eyebrow, giving Cissie a little smile as she goes to sit next to her on the bed. "Just because?" she teases, giving her a wry look.

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

She smiles sheepishly and bumps shoulders with her. "Well. I know I've been in such an amazingly happy sunshine-and-rainbows kind of mood lately, and since a good part of it is thanks to a certain mutual acquaintance, I thought I'd see how you were."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

"Um." Molly motions to the mess in the corner, abashed. "I may be a bit distracted. And worried. There's a possibility it's having a deleterious effect on my potions."

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

Cissie smiles knowingly and slips her arm through Molly's, giving it a squeeze. "Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to hold off on the potion-making for a little while," she suggests wryly.

EARLY AFTERNOON: MOLLY'S ROOM

"...You might be right," she agrees. "The Admiral would probably eventually lose patience with all of the explosions. Distracted apprentices probably should stick to reading instead of potions."
