Who: Ray Kowalski, Neil Howie, possibly infirmary people
What: Ray waking up after having gotten killed by the Master.
Where: Infirmary
When: Uh, probably backdated a little.
Notes: This is Ray's first death/death toll, and he is not going to react favorably to having gotten killed. Kim volunteered Howie to hang around and hold Ray's hand until Ray's gotten over the whole initial OMG I DIED WTF reaction. Except no hand-holding, because that might get misinterpreted, and both Ray and Howie can't have their manly masculinity disrespected. Any infirmary staff is more than welcome to tag in, too, though, of course. (If House feels like mocking the flaily Chicago cop for freaking, he should definitely do so.) Annnd I have to go sleep now, unfortunately, so I won't be tagging back until tomorrow. Just wanted to get this up!

Waking up feels wrong.

Ray's senses return one by one, touch, sound, smell, vision, taste, but none of the sensations he's picking up feels right. His lips taste like copper, the fabric scratching at his skin smells like sharp disinfectant, his ears seem to be picking up nothing but nonsensical, muffled bleeps and silence, and the light seeping through his closed eyelids is too bright, drilling a stabbing pain into the center of his head. He groans and raises a hand to shield his eyes from the light. His fingers get tangled in what feels like a thin plastic string. He tries to shake it off, unwillingly, and there's a pinching sensation in the crook of his arm. The plastic string is attached to him. The plastic tube?

He's in the infirmary. The realization makes his sense impressions slot into place, and it also makes his mind draw together in a tight, sharp focus. He's in the infirmary because he was attacked, he was killed, he--

His hand does go up to his face now, frantic fingers feeling for his right eye. He remembers the sensation of fingers plowing into his eye socket, ripping apart tissue and nerves and then digging deeper, pressing inwards, and he remembers hearing that crack--

The memory makes his stomach heave, and he scrambles to sit up, blindly pawing for some sort of bowl or basin or container. He's going to be sick. Someone help him out here.
