PORT TIME

Aug 21, 2010 15:03

Attention: This is the Admiral Speaking.

During docking procedures, some of you may have noticed that our general population happened to be reduced by about half. What you may not have realized is that every person who has disappeared was a Warden. Nearly the entire Warden population has been reduced to zero.

Now, before you lot decide to jump for joy, I should inform you that you're still getting an outing from this. If your Warden is missing, you have something of an obligation, after all.

I'm reprogramming your journals with relevant information about the port in question. It will provide you what an Item would typically grant your Warden in port -- directions, warnings, tips, et cetera. Since your Wardens won't be there to guide you, you'll have to do their job for yourselves this time around. You are also getting an alternate alias. You will be mixing closely with the locals, so you must try not to stick out, and they must not know you're there looking for your Warden.

Find your Wardens, and find their Items. They will each unlock a door that will bring you home, once you are certain which one it is. It will require both of you to touch it for it to work, so you cannot find one and not the other.

Any unsorted Wardens or Inmates who wish to join them are welcome to, but you do so at your own risk, and Inmates MUST return home with a Warden, as they'll need an Item to get there. The others?

[Will suddenly find themselves standing with their journal out by a line of parked hearses.]

Don't really get a choice. If you're volunteering, I'll send you along after them.

Find your Wardens, Inmates, and return them to the Barge, or you cannot return at all.

(ooc: This is just the initial "WE'RE LANDING" post.

As described in the infopost, each Inmate will receive one of these shortly after this message. It's a music box (playing Happy Birthday) with a crank on the outside, which has a rather sharp jack in the box further inside, and an Invitation. Once off, all passengers will take spiffy hearses up the mountain to the place.

Pritchett will have led them up there...nervously, but he'll tell you OH EVERYTHING IS FINE THAT HOUSE IS TOTALLY NORMAL because he thinks he's getting paid to. Coming shortly will be a "Welcome and Lockdown" Log. Inmates may write initial reactions but the Log will be up imminently. Which'll start right after the locking mechanism hits and everyone is TRAPPED INSIDE FOREVER. Or until morning. That'll be midnight, and that's when the trapped Wardens can officially begin posting in their journals.

The next few days will all take place in the span of a single night -- unless you stayed on the Barge. In which case time will pass normally. The community will be regularly updated with a new hour signaled, typically with ghostly "announcements" that only people in the basement will hear, about what sorts of treatments the patients will be receiving.)
