By the time Loki arrived, Rose had gathered enough strength to sit up for more than a few seconds and had finished the water. At the moment, she was concerned more on staying awake. If the date was as Leia said, then she had already lost one day and she couldn't afford to lose another. It was completely unacceptable.

His presence, however, startled her and she jerked a bit before realizing that it was not the person she thought. Giving him a polite smile- as she did not yet recognize him- she nodded once to his question. Her tongue felt heavy and thick, her mouth still burned, so she didn't trust her speech quite yet.

Rose's posture changed only slightly when he revealed his name and she nodded once in acceptance, easily taking that as truth. After all, who would dispute it? She just didn't expect him to have...this form.

The hand over her own made her look down quickly and she winced, pulling hers away in pain. It still hurt from where the man had destroyed it and she clenched her fist slowly, stiffly.

At his last statement, she shook her head. Gods should not be doing things for mortals.

Rose, taken aback by his insistence, thought it best not to argue with the god. Especially one with his reputation. She raised a hand and put it towards her now empty glass of water.

Her lips actually formed the word "please" and she dropped her hand back to her lap. She was quite surprised that he was even here, but she wasn't going to complain. She really didn't want to be alone. She knew that paranoia wouldn't last long, but it was still a frightening thought to be alone with her memories.

She nodded her thanks but didn't touch it. Part of her was too weary and the other part, well, didn't quite trust him. She didn't think he had a reason to harm her through water but she was hyper-paranoid about other people at the moment.

"Thank you," she managed to choke out through thick tongue and cottonmouth. It was her first attempt at speaking since she woke up, but Rose was not the type to sit around and feel sorry for herself for very long. She wanted to get better and knew the only way to do so would be to try.

"Why..." She paused, looking away as she struggled. "Did you come?"

She stiffened a bit and just stared at him for a long, long moment. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"How did you know it was the Joker?" He had come to her without makeup, without anything. Even Rose didn't know. She suspected as much, but she didn't want to make assumptions. She was counting on Leia to tell her when she found out.

Rose didn't like that answer and she certainly didn't accept it right away, but what choice did she have? Question the god and lose whatever standing she had with him? Certainly not. She just gave a bit of a nod and sat back, weariness overcoming her for a moment.

She put a hand on her mouth, her fingers tracing the wounds that had been there. She then asked the question she had wondered of Leia...the question that was bothering her more as the seconds passed, especially since he had named the clown as the one who did it.

"Why me, Loki? Do you know?"

That caused her to flinch away from him and she turned her eyes from his face, her fingers trembling. Wrong place...wrong time. He said that. Her suspicion increased, her fear as well. But she wouldn't look at him.

"That is what he said." She barely managed to rasp that out. She could hear his voice in her head again and it wouldn't stop. It just kept repeating...and repeating...like a mantra she couldn't control. Wrong place, wrong time, wrong place, wrong time.

She didn't want that. She wanted a true answer. It just didn't make sense in her head. Why was he in that corridor? Why did he go after her? Why did he wear the coat? Why did he tell her that story?

Was there some other reason? Was there something she was missing?

"I told them something would happen." She couldn't blame the Joker yet because there was no motivation. She couldn't blame circumstance because it was seemingly random. So she was going to blame the wardens for not heeding her warnings.
