[Rube is sitting at a table in the corner, alone but for his dog, eating from a plate of leftover pancakes and bacon - his breakfast, now that breakfast shift is over. He's flipping through a book he found laying on the table.]

11-12 entered the dining hall and saw in the corner exactly the person he was looking for. He had a piece of paper clutched in his hands as he headed over to Rube.
"Uh. Excuse me? Sorry to interupt you... Can I ask a quick question?"

He doesn't respond with what he's actually thinking - that he's not a babysitter, and that the kitchen is not a daycare center - but instead replies with a shrug, "I've got no complaints about her."

"Good. I'm sure you'd say if there was a problem."
He glanced at the paper in his hand then back at Rube. "And just this. Do we have these things available in the kitchen?"
He then read through the items 47 had written down:
"Water, milk, apple, orange and cranberry juice, Gatorade or other drinks full of electrolytes, tea. Oranges, apples, kiwis, bananas, lemons and limes. Strawberries, things that haven't been grown around pesticides. Spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, peppers. Turkey, ham, Chicken, roast beef."
He took a breath then stopped, looking at Rube expectantly.

"No, I was told by another warden this is what I should be eating. See?"
He held up the list so Rube could see the whole thing. It was an even longer list, with details:
Say YES to: Drinks: Water, milk, apple and orange and cranberry juice, Gatorade or other drinks full of electrolytes. Tea every now and then, alcohol limited. Fruit: oranges, apples, kiwis, bananas, lemons and limes. Strawberries, things that haven't been grown around pesticides. Vegetables: SPINACH, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, peppers. Meat: turkey and ham. Chicken, boiled, not fried. Roast beef only with appropriate vegetables.
Say NO to: Drinks: lots of tea, soda/pop/carbonated drinks, coffee, energy drinks. Foods: junk food. Donuts, fried foods, sugared sweets, pure sugar, cream, soy, anything "low-fat," anything with aspartame, lots of breaded products, anything with wasted calories and fats, stay away from too much salt.

"A while... but for a long time there were only toasted sandwiches and I haven't been in the kitchen to see all that you may have, so I thought it best to check with you. I can try to make something myself. I just want to know if we have these things at all. Some I know we do... but the rest."

Rube laughed. "You got me there."
He reached out for the list. "Leave that with me; I'll make sure we've got healthy food for you, even if it's just a salad option. Can't promise Gatorade, though. Never did put a lot of stock into that electrolytes bullshit. You know how much sodium they pump into those drinks?"

Rube pocketed the list, then started to go back to his food. He stopped, however, and asked with consternation, "You mind if I ask you something, kid?"

"I'm not dead here... and I'm in training. So I need these foods and drinks. So 47 says - and he looks like he knows about these kind of things," 11-12 explained.

He offered Rube a smile. "Thanks."
