Hayley grunted with the effort of her struggling, livid with anger. The taser Harvey had given her was tucked into her back pocket and, luckily, concealed by the sheer size of Sam's hunting jacket. She thought that would be enough and never expected that anyone, especially former inmates, would have any of their abilities. The girl didn't know who the asshole that was pinning her was, but she sure as hell recognized Belthazor and was not amused to see him participating in this. Or even watching. There was, after all, something disconcerting about being pitted against an assassin.

"Hey Belthazor! It would be really convenient if you could snap out of it right now!" She shouted up at him. Pulling herself into the air for a second, with the help of her hands in place, she was able to kick one of the goons square in the face. It disoriented him a moment, but didn't seem to be doing much to stop him; if anything, he only seemed more angry the moment later.

"Snap out of what?" Belthazor said, trying not to sound so damn shaky. Hicks had sewn up his arm and stopped the bleeding, but it still felt as if he'd stuck his arm into a furnace. He shot a conspiratorial look at Sylar, before smirking back at Hayley. "Oh, you must mean snap your arm out of your socket! Why didn't you just say so - I'm an accommodating guy."

He arched an eyebrow and whistled at the kick. "Kid's got spunk," he said to Sylar, smirk on his face. Usually he took a much more active role in this sort of thing, but now he just leaned back against a wall, his good hand on his knife. He'd joked that he couldn't hog all the fun, and his goons had laughed. Belthazor would rather look lazy this once instead of looking weak (and definitely not do that weirdo change thing again).

The city was fucked up. Worse than Gotham, he decided. Worse than Gotham. At least his city had a few capable cops who weren't interested in padding their pockets. And occasionally the mayor wasn't an idiot. Small favors, but compared to this, Gotham was golden.

Weird how he missed it.

Tim had seen all the posters against the Master, he'd even snagged one of those pamphlets through the open window of their stolen - er, borrowed hovercar. Which continued to be unbelievably cool.

But they hadn't taken the car for nothing, and as Tim spotted the crowd of milling goons and what looked like a beatdown, he glanced at Cissie.

"Ready?"

As soon as Cissie caught sight of the group below and recognized it as Bad News, she was gathering her gear and strapping it on, so that when Tim landed the car she wouldn't have to waste time getting herself together. She gripped her bow in one hand and put a hand on the door handle, ready to jump out. She looked over at Tim and gave a quick nod. "Ready."

As soon as they landed, she would jump out and start shooting off arrows--she was never shooting to kill, just incapacitate and distract, to give Tim a chance to do some damage in closer quarters and hopefully give Hayley a chance to get away.

Sylar cast a glance sideways to his associate with a vaguely quirked eyebrow, wondering what the girl might be talking about, before looking back just in time to watch her kick one of his underlings. He laughed in response to Bel's remarks and the girl's pathetic efforts of struggling. For his own amusement, he released one of her arms as she tried to heave herself up for another kick and smirked as she flailed and nearly fell over. Girl or not, Sylar didn't care. Her age was irrelevant as well. The fact was that she was a resident of the Barge and so she would be arrested or she would be killed and, if she continued to struggle, the odds weren't in her favor ( ... )

"Come down here and say that!" She yelled back at Belthazor. Even though it was a dumb idea and she worried about the very real potential of being more severely injured than she already was, there was some part of her that hoped that she might be able to get through to him if she could just get him away from everyone else for a minute. There had to be some part of the real guy demon tucked away in there somewhere. Or maybe he really was just this evil.. Hayley made a mental note to add him to her list of people to keep an eye on for punishment.

First she was half dropped, then fully, losing her balance completely on the second go to collapse to the ground in a heap. Her side ached with every breath and she wondered if a rib might have been broken. Climbing quickly to her feet, she didn't notice the hovercar so much as they did, trying to keep the guys around her distracted. Her taser wouldn't be much use against the four.

"What, can't hear me from all the way down there?" He chuckled, at least until he also noticed that hovercar. Bel jerked his chin at the goons, wordlessly telling them to watch the girl as he turned to stand next to Sylar. He pulled the dagger out, relishing the metallic hiss as it slid out of the sheath even as he was telling himself not to fuck up this time, or Alastair would probably hand his ass over to Mahoney. And that would definitely be unpleasant.

When the arrows started flying, he quickly grabbed the nearest goon and held him in front of him, meatshield-style. Ignoring the yelp as the goon got one in the arm, Bel grit his teeth and barked orders. "More Barge fuckers! Bonus to whoever gets one!"

Here goes everything, he thought to himself. Tim hit the brake and turned the wheel, forcing the car around. The driver's side faced the small mob; he was giving Cissie the car to use as cover. "Just like old times," he muttered, before throwing open the door. He exited low, not knowing if they had distance weapons and not wanting to present a big target. A few of his throwing disks were already in his hands and flying, knocking goons out, carving long cuts into others. He didn't stop moving - if there were guns, that was the key. Never provide a still target.

It wasn't long before he noticed Sylar - but by then Tim had already pulled out his staff, and God did he miss his cape. And cowl. Maybe the people who fell off wouldn't remember anything once they got back. He swung his staff at the closest people, not wasting his breath on talking.

Tim swung the car around to a stop and Cissie neatly rolled out, coming up behind the door and shooting off arrows in rapid succession. She used the car as cover as Tim had intended, but the problem with arrows was that this many people in such close quarters made it tricky to make sure she wouldn't hit Tim or Hayley by accident.

Fortunately, she was very good at this. Competitive archery was only a recent hobby; this was the type of shooting she'd been training with for the first sixteen years of her life. As her arrows and Tim's staff changed the focus and direction of the group, she moved away from the car for better aim.

Sylar was gone in an instant. Well, not so much gone as shifted into a weasel that quickly ducked back and forth and around some of the goons as they went down. He was aiming for the man, expecting that an injured Belthazor would easily be able to take out the woman; Hayley was immediately forgotten. These people were fighters and that was what the killer enjoyed. As long as it was as unevenly matched as he expected it to be, anyway. Half of Bel's goons and most of his were already injured but still anxious to fight. He was proud of that fact, just as he would be proud of them for dying for the cause.

Some fifteen feet or so away from Tim, the killer quickly shifted back into his normal form. His telekinesis, though it felt weak somehow, was still capable of keeping any arrows from hitting him so long as he was paying attention. Now his attention was on the man in front of him and he let out a couple disappointed clicks and dropped his head into a tilt at the man with the staff, looking something like the villain of a story. "You are ( ... )

To say that Hayley was not amused with this entire situation would be a gross understatement. Luckily, though, arrows started flying around her everywhere as well as some little disc things that seemed straight out of Xena Warrior Princess. She caught a glimpse of both Cissie and Tim before her arms were wrapped over her head and the girl ducked down a bit to try to avoid being hit. With the men around her distracted and a new fight breaking lose, she saw this as her opportunity to bail.

Without hesitation, the little girl socked the man nearest to her in the jaw and didn't wait to realize how little damage it did. She was already taking off down the alley, not bothering to look back or thank her saviors. It barely registered in her mind that Tim was doing some weird crime fighting-type stuff that only served to confirm her suspicions of his prior occupation; her mind right now was consumed with the escape. And running, more specifically. Right now, that was all that mattered.

Get out of here. Get to safety. Then think.

One corner of Belthazor's mind was on 'what the hell did Sylar just do? (not that he had much room to talk lately), but the rest was already focused on the fight. He kept hold of the meatshield guy, ignoring any pained sounds he was making as Bel ran forward. Since Sylar seemed to have picked the guy with the staff, he went for the girl with the bow.

He shoved the goon forward even as he darted around and slashed at the blond. If he came back empty-handed after the last time... Well, he simply wasn't going to let that happen.
