Who: Mr. and Mrs. Wagner
What: More wedding crazy.
When: Not long after returning to the Barge and going, "OH CRAP."
Warnings: None yet.

Abigail, upon finding herself once more on the Barge and slightly more clear-headed than only an hour before, looked down at the ring on her finger - a symbol of matrimony unheard of in her own time - and thought to herself that it looked like a tiny shackle.

No one had explained to her that the events that occurred during ports were hardly binding - and even if they had, her Puritan sense of values made it unacceptable to consider divorce. She was trapped in this silly situation.

The idea of her new, odd-looking husband ought to have filled her with revulsion. However, the more she considered it (and repeated "Goodwife Wagner" to herself), the more she eased into her new role. Yes, he looked like the devil, but she would simply have to make the best of it. The first step was to find Kurt and ensure the marriage was properly consummated. People would begin to talk, otherwise.

She put a her few possessions - her journal and quills, her second dress, a bonnet, a cloak, a comb, and the four books she'd taken from the library - into a basket and left in search of his room. She left the dress Luigi had given her folded neatly on her bed.
