"It's ale," Shinzon corrected, but he nodded. "It comes from Romulus." He didn't bother with corrections; he' been 'born' on Romulus, though he considered Remus his home. Or as close to one as he was capable of having.

He'd been surprised to find the clear bottle of blue liquid, and had suspected it to be something else; but a sniff proved it to be the alcohol he'd been raised on. Pouring them both glasses, Shinzon settled at the bar; he wouldn't admit to being glad Judas was speaking again, but he was.

"It's much stronger than the wine you gave me," he warned.

Judas nodded again as he looked at the glass and the strange fluid in it. He swirled it carefully in his hand before he took a sniff of it. Phew, that smelled much different from the wine he'd had back in Judea, even much more so than some of the drinks he'd had here on the Barge. The entire combination was well beyond foreign for him, but he enjoyed drinking and especially with a friend. He nodded minutely in response as he took a sip of it to test it out. At first it was almost pleasant before he exhaled fiercely. It was certainly strong.

"How have you been this week, my friend?" he half-croaked, half-spoke.

That almost got a chuckle from him, but Shinzon refrained. He busied himself with taking a long drink, savoring that burn down his esophagus. It was much more pleasant to him than his companion, that he could tell. If the croaking was any indication.

"Well enough." He didn't mention that for his birthday, Kahlan had given him the most bewildering present. Perhaps he'd bring that up after a few drinks. "You've been quiet."

Judas nodded as he pressed a hand to his chest. He'd already been asked a few times about his self-imposed week of silence and he figured he could stall with another drink of the strange liquid. Again, it burned through him and he coughed a little before he answered.

"I have been," the Apostle replied, albeit a little strained due to the fierce nature of the ale.
