The doors to the dining room were heavily barricaded. Behind them the rebels and refugees waited, armed and ready for the inevitable attack. A heavy tension weighed down on the room. The call for surrender was largely just for show, as none of the wardens were expected to take it up, but there were still some who harbored secret hopes that this could be ended without too much loss of life.
They were going to be quite disappointed.
