“Yeah, I can understand that.” Rose said giving the other woman a small smile and then glancing up at the sky. It was funny to her about the mention of stars since she really hadn’t seen many back in that parallel universe. They were mostly fading one by one instead of coming out but here it was entirely different. At least it was one constant. And then was the sudden hug which caught the blonde a bit off guard but really she needed it. She hadn’t really gotten one in such a long time.

Rose blinked as Martha pulled away just as she was about to return it but unable to. “Don’t be. We were good mates, yeah? You and the previous me?” It was a rather curious and valid question since the only thing she really knew about that parallel her was mostly all the damage she had done to others.

She followed suit sitting beside the woman in the same fashion before glancing around again and thinking back to something. "Get used to a lot of things if you hang around enough with..." Him. In places. But she didn't voice it. "Reckon they must be having the time of their lives back in that proper universe..." she said as her voice trailed off referring to Jack and the Doctor. It was sort of funny for them to be missing at the same time. But it was just another theory to add to the list of many.

"So you and him. Shakespeare, yeah?" She vaguely recalled that first conversation with her when she arrived and wanted to inquire more about it.

"Yeah, we were. And we saved the world together. Or we will, someday." Martha grinned to Rose, but her normal expression was much more subdue than it would have been otherwise. She was realizing how tired she had gotten; it had settled into her bones when she didn't expect it. All of the bustling about had subdued the sensation for a bit, but now that she was sitting here with Rose as someone who shared her sorrow, her body was subtly reminding her that she couldn't run on adrenaline forever.

"Yeah ya do," that same subdued smile because Martha knew what Rose had meant. "I don't think they are, though." Martha pulled her knees up and rested her chin on them. "If they are then their proper universe isn't ours. I can't imagine our Jack and Doctor acting that way." Well, maybe for a little while, but never leaving without saying goodbye. "They woulda said goodbye." It was something that she was certain of. The Doctor may believe in Rose, but Martha Jones believed in him. Well, the real him anyway.

She poured out the tea into a cup, then offered it to Rose before she pulled another from the pocket of her jacket. It wasn't a proper tea cup by any means, but it wasn't sipping from the thermos. "Yeah. He was taking me for one trip. We went back in the past to London and saw a play. Love's Labour Lost. But then the bard himself came out and told us that the sequel, Love' Labour Won would be on the next night."

"Bet that was fun," Rose remarked with a matching grin. She had to remember that Martha was from the future. A future that she really didn't know that much about but was curious to find out. But would it hurt or help her more? That she didn't really know and thus was hesitating even asking. "It always is, you know." she said referring to saving the world, whether it was Cybermen or Dalek or a combination. Not that the last time had been great she thought recalling almost falling into the Void and then being caught by her "dad" only to find herself in that parallel world. Stupid clamps. Stupid grip.

But at least she knew somewhat that afterwards he hadn't really been alone finding Martha. She never wanted him to be alone to suffer like she had been but then a part of her hadn't wanted to be replaced either. Not that it was like that from the little she now knew. She was glad that Martha could be there for him, when she couldn't.

"Maybe," Rose said looking at the trees in the distance for a moment. The more she thought about it, the more the whole parallel thing made sense. It wasn't like them to just swan off without a word though to her this hadn't been the first time Jack and the Doctor had taken off. Maybe all those other ones had been fakes too. "They've left before...just like this. Not at the same time of course but always without a word." Really she was starting to lose count. "Guess all of those were parallel versions too." She started to wonder when the real ones would ever show.

She took the cup and smiled in gratitude before taking a sip. It was quite good. Laughter escaped her lips at the mention of it being on trip. She knew it all too well. "It always starts off with that. I remember our first trip. He had an entirely different face then and wore a leather jacket. We went to this platform place saw the end of the world." She had been so scared back then. Returning to focus on the present her attention returned back to Martha. "Did you stick around for that?"

"Bloody hell, now I'm worried that I'm gonna be a parallel dimension of myself." Martha hoped she wasn't, and she never could imagine leaving without a word to Ace or Nathan or Leonard, or Rose or anyone else. "Let's make a pact, yeah? No leaving without a word." It seemed like such a simple and small thing; how could it not be? Martha considered again. "Maybe they'll show up again soon, and Donna will come back." It would be nice, the old gang back together.

"I can't imagine the Doctor in a leather jacket," the words were admitted quickly. Martha had seen him wearing the leather jacket via the files at UNIT, but it was still hard to imagine that the Doctor who always wore a suit could be found in something as commonplace as a jumper. Of course, the current Doctor did wear chucks. But onto the story. "Yeah, we kinda had to. Love's Labour Won is a sort of lost Shakespearian play, I guess. Had to see what was happening. We ended up at the inn where Shakespeare was. He was... a bit different than I expected. Not at all big white frilly collars and what not." And of course he had chatted her up. "Thought he was insulting me, really. Then this bloke showed up and said the play'd never get preformed... then the chap ended up drowned on dry land." Martha was good with stories, she had picked up after a time.

"Maybe the parallel version of you's not a person but an animal?" Rose suggested taking another drink of tea. After all anything was possible though maybe somewhere out there, there was a crude version of Martha to go along with the matching set of her, Jack, and the Doctors. She hated to think what a parallel version of the Master and his wife could be, so before the thought could even really formulate in her head, she gave it a shake.

"I can," she grinned remembering fondly those big ears of his and those big blue eyes that just seemed to stare a bit too much at times. But then she thought back to the regeneration how the jacket seemed a bit too big for him. He was skinnier now but still it had somewhat suited him though the suit and trainers were a better match. "You know I think he still might have it in the TARDIS somewhere." But then she remembered that he was gone and she wasn't able to show her. Maybe if one day the real him popped up then she would, if she could even convince him that was.

Rose listened on to the story resting her cup down against the grass. "An inn really? Same room, yeah?" Usually she always stayed in the same room with the Doctor, for the sake of keeping a watchful eye on her in case or if they had to suddenly run for their lives in the middle of the night. It was always easier to stay close by.

"Who would've thought." she said with half a grin at the mention of Shakespeare not really being like the history books had described. "...Drowned on dry land?" Rose questioned with a raised brow. "Blimey..."

"An animal?" Martha looked vaguely horrified, and then considered it. If she was she would be a cat, she decided. After a moment's consideration, she shook her head. Why in the world was she thinking about that anyway? Martha wasn't an animal, she was just herself and that was all there needed to be really.

When Rose grinned, Martha smiled as well. It was good to see the blond as something other than miserable. She had remembered the joy on Rose's face after they had beaten Davros, and every time she had seen Rose, either Rose since than, she had looked miserable. And who could blame her after this? Martha couldn't. Martha didn't. "He probably does. The Doctor doesn't throw anything away. I'm pretty sure he has an old magazine collection that would rival and doctor's office." There was a grin. "Which makes sense."

Too the inn question, she hesitated. "Yeah," Martha said after a moment. She didn't like to remember that part of the adventure; it embarrassed her to do so. She had expected it to be more than it was, and the fact that she had thought it really... well, never-mind. Spilt milk and whatnot.

"Yeah. It was the oddest thing. The Doctor said it was a bout of humors, but..." That little knowing smile. "And then we heard another scream and I saw one of the oddest things I'd ever seen. And just before this, mind, I'd been on the moon with an old lady who drank people's blood with a straw." Martha paused and took a sip of her tea before she leaned in and added. "I saw a witch flying away on a broomstick."

“An animal,” Rose confirmed with a nod though judging by the expression written all over Martha’s face for that moment she was probably thinking the worst. Really it wasn’t so bad since she had been a dog but who knew what she was thinking. “It wasn’t really so bad. You might’ve found it amusing.” she said recalling how amused the Doctor had been at the discovery though she was from it at the time.

She took yet another drink of tea and then laughed imagining a room in the TARDIS littered from wall to wall with stacks of magazines. With everything that the Doctor had in his ship it really wasn’t that hard to see. “More than likely, yeah. Probably from here to here,” she said gesturing with her hand from one side and then to the next. “And if you even try to get inside, you’ll be in danger of it all collapsing on you. Death by magazine avalanche. What a way to go.” she joked.

Rose continued to listen with interest getting slightly jealous about hearing that she had been on the moon. Another place that she had never gotten to go with the Doctor before and possibly never. "...With a straw?" she couldn't help but say making a face at trying to picture it. It was always an adventure with him wasn't it? Even if it was a strange one. "That's a bit Hocus Pocus. Did you go after her?"
