Who: The Master, Bartleby, Rose Tyler, Daniel Jackson, the Fourth Doctor, OPEN. Where: The Infirmary When: After this, this, and Bartleby's request to the Admiral. Warnings: Doubtful.
While the Doctor was pretending to ignore him, the Master busied himself with doing much the same, idly flipping through... Great Expectations, actually, the book that the Doctor's ninth incarnation had thrust upon him over a year ago. In fact, that was the reason why the Master was reading it right now: he happened to have the entire thing transcribed in his journal, due to that Doctor's stubbornness.
He glared over at the Doctor and closed the book. "Aspirin, if you can believe it."
"Yes, but your safety isn't any concern of mine, Doctor," he said, his tone chiding. He looked at his nemesis and arched his eyebrows innocently. "Unless you're interested in avenging me?"
"So they do," he murmured, unconvinced. Then, he wrinkled his nose at the offered candy and turned his head. "No need, Doctor. I don't have a taste for sweets right now."
Oh, that's a lie. Much like the Doctor, he has a particular weakness for sweets. So, after a few moments, he scowls and takes the jelly baby. "How generous."
"Oh, Doctor, you and I both know that space is far from calm, particularly when there are entropic forces at work." Then, his own smile crept to his face, rather gloating and unpleasant. "Or am I speaking too soon?"
He rolled his shoulders back, feeling that old smugness creep back into him in full force, despite his recent death. "An honest mistake, Doctor. It won't happen again. After all, your future is better left experiencing blindly, unable to stop what happens to-- ah. Speaking too soon again."
