WHO: Lauren, Veronica, & anyone else! (Open)
WHERE: Level 4 - Gym
WHY: Blowing off some steam
WARNINGS: None as of yet, unless you count the expert snarking of the blonde spy team.
She should realistically be wearing proper gloves, Lauren thought for the thirteenth time as her right fist slammed into the thick sand-filled bag hanging from the ceiling.
And for the fourteenth time, she mused at how she much preferred her bare hands for this, the numbing pain at every hit offering a twisted contrast to the pain going on inside.
She could think of only one thing better. There was nothing quite like taking your stresses out by firing a set of rounds at that hanging paper target, imagining it was one of your enemies. Good practice, of course, but Lauren also found it rather therapeutic. She wasn't terribly disappointed when her attempts to find a range on the barge failed, however, considering that the odds were stacked against her. She was an Inmate, after all, and asking for a gun likely wouldn't produce a positive response.
Finding the gym was the best thing thus far. Doing some yoga or listening to calming music didn't work for someone as high-strung as Lauren; she needed the intense, hands-on approach to unwind. A body may have been her first choice, but a punching bag was a suitable alternative.
There were a lot of things weighing on her mind, at the top of the list being the entire ship business. She didn't deal well with losing control, and finding herself essentially trapped here was never part of any plans of hers. Though the alternative was apparently death, which also didn't sound so bloody appealing.
A certain Adam Monroe wasn't helping things, either, by walking around looking like him. She knew he was faking but she gave in to that weakness anyway, something she was normally stronger with. Part of her wanted him gone and the other part... simply made her more furious. Either way, she was going to make Adam admit that he was lying, but just hadn't yet decided how.
For now, at least, she forced her mind to shut down and let the adrenaline take over.
