Sam was beginning to feel like his allusion to 'freight trains and labour camps' was about to come true. This wasn't going to be an evacuation, it was going to be a slaughter. Being herded into the mess hall with all the others, with five of those extremely lethal saltshakers on guard, he felt an increasingly ominous sort of weight on his person. And then, when the 'healer'-- no, Davros?-- announced his presence, he let out a brief curse and actually jumped back a little.

That man, that-- no, thing-- what was he? Sam swallowed, but pushed back his initial fear (and perhaps disgust) and spoke up. "And how're you gonna do that?" he asked, sounding a bit braver, more defiant than he felt.

Namor had seen concentration camps, had been horrified by the monstrous nature of those who would create such things. Moreover, while he'd been quiet over journals, the Atlantean was aware of what was going on. He'd read that someone was killed simply for claiming superiority over these machines...and now it claimed they would be evacuated. What Harvey said sounded frighteningly true, particularly with the way they were being herded.

"Where are we to be evacuated to? Elysium?"

When he was marched from Level 0 to the mess hall, West had a feeling that he was about to be on the receiving end of an execution. Was this how Farrell had felt, walking into the woods, knowing that his life was ticking away with each step? Well, West's newfound understand-- maybe even remorse-- was too little too late. What good would it do him now? He was likely to be permanently killed now. Still, he was an officer, and he would behave with the honour and dignity expected of him. Head held high, hands clasped behind his back, he entered the dining hall with the rest of the prisoners, flanked by a pepperpot pointing its whisk at them.

He took in a deep breath, slightly hitched with anxiety, and appeared perfectly calm as the others started to shout questions.

Claude wasn't ashamed that he'd knelt. He wasn't the heroic type; he never was. What he needed to do was survive long enough to put a stop to this, and an invisible man who could no longer be invisible had very little to offer in the immediate resistance. The death, that was unfortunate, but it wasn't until Elle and Peter were destroyed that he really felt any real connection to what had just happened. Those were people he knew, one of whom he actually sort of liked. He scowled, feeling like an absolute coward, then looked from Sylar to Adam. Great, all the people he had left to rely on, it seemed, were his own killer and the man whose cell he'd occasionally visited back in the 80s and 90s ( ... )

Angel awoke to find flies crawling all over his face. He spluttered, spitting a few of the more adventurous ones out of his mouth.

Oh good, he wasn't dead. Apparently he was still undead, even if he didn't have any strength or speed left.

But the ease with which he pushed himself to his feet made him think differently. Everything seemed to be functioning properly, for the first time in a while.

"Hey Davros!" he shouted, striding towards the man in the wheelchair. If a Dalek fired at him, it only made him pause momentarily. When he was standing in front of Davros, he glowered down at him.

"Looks like your reign's over." Then he attempted to punch Davros square in the nose.

Tony's eyes went wide as the image around him changed. Flies, crawling out of everything and...the mummy. He didn't look like a mummy any more, but a man, from the energy he'd stolen from the baby. The poor, innocent little baby which he now saw, lying there...and all around him were decaying corpses. Death. Death was everywhere. He couldn't escape death. Couldn't escape it, but he could try.

Gripping the zipper of his jacket, Tony said a few simple words in a non human language and disappeared from sight, sound and smell.

He realized that powers were back by what he was seeing. Tony had dealt with illusions before and knew that this couldn't be real, though he couldn't see through it. If only he had...the Daleks were distracted. They hadn't been able to see him until after Prefect had been killed, which probably meant they had to do some kind of scan to know he was there. Tony turned and ran. He'd only have to be gone for a few minutes...

Loki's parting attack didn't miss this time, and the Master let out a shout of pain and tried to steady himself against the wall, as there was nothing else he could do against a phantom attack, other than use his strength of will to endure and try to overcome it. The pain was immense, but... in time... yes... It passed. He gasped, breathing harshly, then heard a shout and groaned.

"Yes, it's me," he declared, although there really wasn't any energy in his voice. The Daleks had left him traumatised, to say the least, and his state of mind was still very much as it was when he'd seen the Cruciform being taken. Davros was even more horrifying than the Dalek Emperor had been...

So, he gazed at Rayne, then pushed himself away from the wall, affecting confidence, although he was really just exhausted, scared, and half-wishing the Doctor would just right things already, as he always did.

"I'd suggest you really think about things before you act, Rayne. Who else knows where the Admiral is? Who else can undo this damage ( ... )

The fact that Davros was gone now was of little consequence to Peter. It wouldn't help Adam now. His inmate had screwed up badly and the empath was going to let him know it. Backing the wrong side had consequences and even if Davros had succeeded, Peter would still be pissed. Elle was still dead. He still needed Adam's blood to bring her back and that wasn't going to stop him from beating up Adam a little bit first.

"Well congratulations that doesn't get you off the hook," Peter snarled, his hands still alight as he reached for his inmate and grabbed him by the shoulder.

"First you're going to bring Elle back and then I'll think of something else your godliness can do to make up for it."

Angel only allowed himself to be distracted by Libby for a moment.

"They're not going to let us go home," he told her. "They just want to slaughter all the humans and experiment on everyone else."

He continued in his efforts to pick up and throw the nearest Dalek.

Ichabod Crane had dutifully stayed in his room, door locked via towel beneath. He sat in a chair on the farthest wall away, watching the door fearfully. At any moment he expected an attack of some kind. He had his pistol on his lap, ready to attack whatever came through. Something did bump his door, and Ichabod panicked. He scrambled to get his gun properly drawn, and because his hands were so shaky, he ended up shooting himself. Whoops.

Kurt avoided the meeting for the same reasons as Psylocke.

Giselle was still tied up in Aleera's room. Secretly she was relieved. The meeting seemed like it woudl be chaos, with people getting hurt. She cuddled Pip and didn't mind the leash at all.

Giles had been herded into the mess hall with most of the other people on the Barge, part-Ripper, part-Giles -- thoughts in his head that weren't Watcher thoughts... He'd seen Angel take a hit from one of the robots, he hadn't seen Ethan. He'd kept his eye out for Ralphie, for anyone he knew. They were going to die. He knelt, mind racing, buying himself time. He saw others die ( ... )
