Nearing the end and the beginning

It's official -- I just applied for graduation! *does happy dance in computer chair* I will be graduating in May and will be receiving my Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Yay! It's about time!

Now all I have to do is get myself situated for graduate school. I've pretty much considered going to UWM for graduate school, but if something else looks better in the next few weeks I may consider going somewhere else. I know Carthidge has a good Masters program, but I don't know if I really want to move to Kenosha. Well, then there is always Madison...but they are more expensive (of course anywhere will be expensive)...And even if I wanted to go somewhere else like say La Crosse, I wouldn't be able to go there for social work since they don't have a social work program anymore...at least that is what I've heard...I could be wrong...All I know is that I will need to go over to the Financial Aid Department in the next couple weeks and speak with Jamie Harper ( I hope she still works there! *fingers crossed*) about student loans. My parents have been more then generous to me with helping me with my past tuition bills, but I feel that I need to step it up for myself this time, even if that means going into debt for a while.

Honestly, I want to go to graduate school right away because I know that if I take a year off I won't want to go back. A Master's Degree is important to anyone in any field, but it tends to be extremely important for social work students for one particular reason...MONEY! The more degrees, the more money you will most likely make. The most ironic thing about it is that those who go into social work aren't doing it for the money. They are doing it for the people and they know what they are getting themselves into. They say it takes a certain kind of person to go into this field in the first place.

At least now I can let out a sigh of relief for now, relax for the rest of the night, and then head back to the salt mines tomorrow to do some reading for classes next Tuesday and Thursday and fill out some forms for work on Monday.
