*the morning after the end of the egg-baby event, notes have been found taped to the doors of every one of the apartments. Each of these notes reads:
Your egg-baby has been kidnapped. If you
wish to see him/her/it again... well, I'm sorry to
say that you probably won't. Rest assured
that he/she/it is safe and sound for the time
being.

As indicated in the note, each family's egg-baby is conspicuously missing.*
