(no subject)
So, it turned out to be Stuttgart after all. The weather was nice, and it seems to be an interesting city. Made me realize how small and quiet Heidelberg really is. The main thing we did was the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Not something I would have ever chosen to do, but it was actually interesting. There was a large emphasis on world history in general, I suppose as an attempt to put the development of the company in context. Other than that, we pretty much just wandered around. First, though, a couple pictures of Heidelberg taken from one of my favourite places to sit.
I was really excited that I actually had my camera when this tiny little bird went swimming by. I know I've remarked on it before, but the number and variety of birds here never fails to amaze me.
So, here's looking in one direction. It's a spot right next to the river, clearly. There's a tree that I sit on. Or, its roots at any rate. What I was trying to get a picture of, though, is something that I've come to associate with spring here; there are many trees which, as their flowers die, release tons and tons of white fluff which is always floating through the air. Sometimes there's enough of it that it looks almost like snowfall.
And then looking out in the other direction..
Look at how green it is! It's amazing. I love how many trees there are here.
And something I've developed an addiction to... This stuff is so good. Wow. It tastes... well, like cherries. Not like fake cherry, but... like the actual fruit.
Alright, so that's that... Now Stuttgart. We took the train to get there. It was about a 45 minute ride. Also my first train experience. It was very smooth, and very much like a plane. Nice way to travel... It's too bad that it'd be much less practical in the US.
Ok, so I've got to go to class, so I'm only going with the second half of my pictures for now. We're stuck starting in the middle of the museum thanks to the way they decided to upload.

And with that we're back outside. There's an election here on the 6th or 7th of June, so there are political signs everywhere-here too. But I found this one particularly scary. Literally, it reads 'Multi-cultural? No thanks' Unless I'm just missing the context... Woah. Woah.
The picture of the stroller amused me.
Huge park in the middle of the city, and a really frighteningly large swan.
