So uh, yeah....my weekend was ok. I went surfing on Sunday and the waves sucked. I tried skinning it, but it didn't really happen. Oh well. I wanted some decent surf because I have a competition in Jacksonville this weekend. It's a Pro/Am competition put on by the Florida Surfing Association (FSA). I just joined FSA, so this should be interesting. This past year, I competed in the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA). I placed 10th out of 20 for the season. Keep in mind, that was my first year ever competing, and I did average just like I thought I would. I need to be more aggressive out there. The last competition, I tried being "aggressive" and I got called on an interference, haha. Oh well. You live and learn. So on my way to the beach, I was headed down the beeline going 74mph with my friend tailgating me like usual. Also, a string of cars were behind us wanting to go faster. Well, if any of you know, there are many bridges you go over because of the rivers you pass over. So I go over one and sure enough, there was a cop with his radar gun aimed right at me. Busted! Oh well. He was nice to us and only gave me and my friend (because we were ahead of the pack of cars) a 60 dollar speeding ticket for going "6" miles over the speed limit. The speed limit was 55. We had boards on our vehicles and everything, I bet he was happy to pull us right over. My friend had an airsoft bb gun in his car. LOL! The cops found it and started playing with it. He almost got a ticket for that because he had painted the tip black instead of leaving it orange. Oops. He also almost got a ticket for following me to closely. Double oops. Anywho, so the guys in my car were like, "damn, they have a couple of our boards, I hope they don't go to jail cuz we want to surf!" haha Anyway, when the cop gave me my ticket, I said, "thank you very much, sir. Have a nice day." He's like, "You too, have fun." LOL! I was just being nice being nice since he gave us a huge break. We were speeding in a construction zone, though, there were no workers present. So it didn't matter.
I'm going surfing tomorrow. Supposedly, a swell is coming in tomorrow sometime. My mom is coming over in the afternoon, as well. We'll see how it all goes. This is my first update in a while. I don't really care to write in "journals" because it seems kind of gay, but there is nothing else to do. Oh well.
See you out in the water...
