A break from the Hill.

Homecoming Day was more interesting than expected. I was in the parade with HLA, which was fun, had a lot of fun just chillin with people at the game, watched a video for French class, saw Waiting for Godot with Ali Moss, movie night, and then just really random stuff until late at night. It was great. Sunday was the HLA soccer game, which was fun, even if a lot of people didn't come, and dinner and mass with the CCM.

Then, as for my week, well, it's been going fine, except for a couple of things... some funny, some not so much... I overslept and missed math class on Monday, but it didn't really matter too much. Then that same night, I had a pretty bad call, where the guy proceeded to yell at me and drop an f-bomb. Basically, I told him to not speak that way to me. For some reason, it seemed to offend him more... hmm... I also love how in choir, we are accomplishing more, in terms of actually knowing full songs. They're sounding good, but some of the things that our director does just drives me crazy, I have to say. Oh, and Tuesday was great because Audrey visited me for a couple of hours in the morning, and I got paid from work (on-campus), so I was basically feeling good on that day.

OK, so no more random stuff I suppose. Real update time. From Thursday. On that day, I got to sleep in, then went to lunch with the people in my group from sem for our presentation. Went to acting class, and actually did my scene with George. Elizabeth didn't really say that it was bad or anything, so we decided to just not practice it after class. So I chilled with Courtney and Nomi and washed Nomi's dishes with her in the laundry room while listening to Arabic and Hebrew music. Fun times. Then, I had choir, a quick dinner, and got on a bus with people from my acting class and the theatre sem to see The Foreigner at the Olney Theatre Center. It was a really funny show, and we all pretty much enjoyed it. We got back pretty late, and I tried studying with Jess and Izzy and then doing homework, but that didn't work out too well, so I went to bed when my roommate came back.

Friday the 13th. Hahahaha, wow. I woke up at 9:07. My math class is at 9:10. I literally rolled out of bed, pulled on clothes over what I slept in, and headed on over to class. So awkward. But, I had to make it, seeing as I already missed one class, and we had a quiz going on. Then, I went to sem, and I had a nice rant of my own. We were discussing the excerpt we read from Richard Rodriguez's Hunger of Memory, and it literally made me angry. Ask me why if you want to know. After sem, I showered and got cleaned up instead of going right to lunch, after which I did go to lunch for some more last-minute studying for the French test, which I probably should have studied a tad more for. But honestly, I don't care too much over why the Acadians were persecuted by the English. After that, I basically just got ready to be picked up to go home for fall break, but while I was waiting, I did manage to see one of the volleyball games from the tournament with Sarah, and then go to dinner. It was weird to see Glar so empty, though. Finally, I got picked up by my mom, and we went home.

When I got home, I gave my dad the stuff I bought him for his birthday from the bookstore, then went to youth group. It was disheartening to see the low number in attendance, but I liked seeing how it was run. Afterwards, I got to have a little adventure with Jonathan, Allie, Matt, and Josh, and got home pretty late, but the fun was worth it.

This morning, I got up to deposit my paychecks at the bank, then went to the cemetery with my mom and grandma for my great-grandma's birthday. Yes, I still remember her, even though she died when I was three, and we still pay our respects. After that, we had lunch at Ruby Tuesday's and stayed at the mall for a bit. It was nice to have a bit of family time today. And now, I'm just at home, wondering what else to do. I'm on fall break until I leave on Tuesday evening, so I wonder if I will be able to hang out with anyone... well, something exciting should happen. At least I hope so. =)

That's all for now! I guess I will update later when something more exciting happens. God bless!
