Well, my summer only seems to be getting better, so it is out of excitement for those future events that I post this new entry...
First, as an update, went to Steph's and Maria's parties on Saturday, and both were pretty good. Church and father's day on Sunday, nothing major, it was mostly low-key with our family.
Then, the past three days, I have been having meetings for VBS, including practices with the captains (the actual kids) who are doing the skits and the hand motions to the songs, and an organizational meeting for all the teen leaders. This year seems like it will be pretty good, and it's pretty cool to be able to direct for the skits. I did a lot of that today (or rather, yesterday), and it's going very well. The kids are very cooperative, and they seem eager in their roles as captains, which is good. Vacation Bible School is all next week, so I definitely have to pray for the energy there!
Oh, and of course, Portugal beat Mexico 2-1. It was glorious. So what's next for this all-star team? Beating out Holland in the next round, of course! =) I predict Portugal can go very far in this World Cup...
Now, the highlight of my week will definitely be the Steubenville retreat! Yup, I am definitely going, and very excited, at that. I didn't get to go last year, but I have been twice, and I know how great the retreats are. It's kinda weird to go without the entire youth group, but I realize that this opportunity was a blessing, and I am still going with a bunch of awesome kids. I'm definitely taking full advantage of it, and I cannot wait until we go. It's gonna be great!
Finally, the core group meeting we had really made me happy about youth group, and my summer. The King's Dominion trip is definitely gonna be, as Sophia would say, the "bomb-dig", LOL. Plus, it seems as if we will have the chance to visit Beth in PA on a mini-retreat/mission trip in early August, and I can't wait for that! If it weren't for youth group, my summer would definitely be boring, that's for sure!
I don't know how else my summer will go, but it definitely looks brighter and I cannot wait for everything! Tomorrow, or rather, later today, I really should get cleaning more, and packing for the retreat, and possibly doing some VBS shopping with Sophia. It will be busy, but the good kind. Soooo, yeah, I'm in a really good mood right now, in case you can't tell. ;-)
Thank you, Lord, with the blessings that you have bestowed upon me! God is good, all the time!
God bless, everyone, and remember--look to Him for support.
