Wow, I can't believe that I have willed myself to not update for so long! But I don't think it's will so much as it's kinda laziness... I know, killer... so what's new with me these days? Well, let's back it on up a bit...
Coming back to school after spring break was killer. Not only was it hard to get back into the swing of things, but I discovered I was getting sick. It was so bad that by Tuesday afternoon I had a bad fever, and so I ended up not going to school at all on Wednesday or Thursday. Well, those days of rest did good things for my recovery, but not so much good things in terms of school. On the upside, school is basically winding down, so there wasn't too much that was crucial that I missed... I suppose. Friday I went back, but it was essentially a waste--people were either on the band trip in Florida or at UMCP for the open house; the cafeteria was crazy empty! At least I got to rest right after school, and then youth group had an open gym night, and I must say, that mental image of Melvin getting hit in the head during dodgeball then falling like a sack of bricks will never leave my mind!
Saturday, I could not sleep in, due to the fact that I had to take the AP Lit practice exam. It actually wasn't too bad. I possibly did well on the multiple choice, and my essays could have been better, but I feel as if they were better than most essays I have written this year. I think I can probably manage a 3. After that, I went with my mom and my brother to see Take the Lead, which was OK, and then we went to the mall so I could get a gift for Gaby. Then, we had dinner in the food court, but for those who haven't tried Texas BBQ Factory, it is good--go try it! Then we came home and I spent a good amount of time playing video games.
Yesterday was Sunday School and mass, and even though I was falling asleep during the homily, for some reason I actually caught a lot of it. It was interesting, really. Afterwards, I had a quick meal at McDonald's and met up with a bunch of the guys from youth group for a vocations mass and dinner in Silver Spring. It seemed pretty interesting, even though the promised Cardinal McCarrick was not there. Then, I came home and just relaxed... a crossword puzzle as I lay in bed is very relaxing.
Today, got to school on time, but I felt really tired for most of the day for some reason. Nothing really special in any of my classes, but preparation for AP exams is more important now, at least in Stat and Lit in my case. After school, I practiced more for International Night, and for the most part, I know the cumbia and salsa portions of our dance routine. Then, I just came home, made plans with Pam for our Stat project with Becca, and did my English post.
Oh yeah, and one more thing... I was actually also looking up airline fares online! See, my brother got a lot of money for graduation, so I'm thinking that if I were to get a lot of money as well, I'm going to be traveling on my own this summer. My choices are between London, to visit Cassy and Michelle, or Finland, to visit my cousins. Right now, though, prices for either destination are close to a whole grand, so I'm gonna have to wait a bit for them to go down. In any case, I am excited to have made this decision and to see another part of the world, and I also wonder when my passport expires...
So, yeah, that's what's going on with me. Everyone, just keep it real, because your days will get better. I promise.
