ambercrombie & fitch ginza

Last week, we went to Ambercrombie & Fitch at Ginza to look see look see. I always thought A&F shops look damn dark and usually can't see the clothes properly coz all they use are yellow lights. At least that's what I noticed when I went to the one in Toronto. The A&F in Ginza is an entire building that has 11 floors.

There are 2 angmohs/halfs standing outside at the entrance who greet people when they enter with 'hey what's up'. Ummm. The lobby area has elevators which bring people all the way up but it only stops at certain floors. Just as we entered the lobby, there was a girl(half) holding a poloroid who asked us whether we wanted to take photos with a topless model. He had a nice body, well that's essential. So I guess his job is just stand there with jeans and slippers and take photos with customers.

Everything was black inside with the trademark yellow lights. The whole shop smelled like cologne (which the shop sells) and it was super strong. Besides the smell, there was the crazy loud clubbing music. It was like stepping into a club. Some departmental stores in Japan have the elevator ladies and A&F Ginza has elevator boys who explain which level has what.

We got off at the 7th floor and slowly went down the stairs all the way to the lobby. The sales people are all goodlooking and I think it's the only shop in Japan that lets them wear flipflops during work. The clothes were blah and expensive so we didn't get anything. When we finally reached the 2nd floor, there were 2 staff who were just dancing on the spot. A guy and a girl just dancing side by side, you know grooving to the music. ???? Hahaha so maybe they are hired just to dance on the 2nd floor. So bizarre!

Then as we left, the guys standing at the entrance said 'hey thanks for coming'.

Haha next time when you all go Ginza then can check out the A&F just for the experience.
