I had a fantastic weekend. I started out on Friday by going to my boss's house for a party.
On the ride over, the cab driver was listening to NPR. I was really excited to see him reach over for his ipod, because all of that talk about globalization was pretty sobering. When he had finally selected a track I was struck w/ the sudden realization that it was a continuation of the segment on global economics. NPR on your ipod-so Seattle.
I was pretty nervous when I got there, because I didn't know anyone. My anxiety was put to ease immediately by the sight of two little old ladies w/ the BIGGEST dreadlocks I've ever seen stumbling down the steps. They had one cane between the two of them that was wavering heavily against the weight. They kept turning around and screaming "We love you Justin!" between bursts of drunken laughter.
I was really impressed w/ the group of people they have surrounded themselves with. Their were people of all different ages, and a lot of older professionals that still party like it's their second job. Very 40 is the new 30. I got invited out on some dates, so the evening was pretty successful. Not as successful as getting laid on the spot, but it will do for now. I think that I'm gonna try the older guys. They've been sandwiched in between Janelle and man-in-uniform on my to do list for too long.
We hung out w/ some of Marijo's friends in belltown on Saturday night. It was a nice relaxing evening filled w/ beer and laughter.
Then on sunday mobylovr and I painted the living room red. A little too red, as you can see by her latest photo entry. I'm seriously considering hanging a picture of Mao Tse Tsung up in our living room. It only seems fitting. So this is one project that has extended far beyond the weekend, but I think that is sort of the nature of diy projects.
Oh and in closing I would just like to say that Johnny Walker is my new bff.
