[Van's found a guitar somewhere, and he's just relaxing in a nice, sunny lawnchair out by the pool. He's ignoring the recent ruckus with fires and mini-golf because he is just not interested in coming up against...well, nevermind that. It's under control, and that's the important thing. He's moderately happy, and not holed up in the bar or wherever

[If you listen closely, there's a smile in her voice.]

Thank you, m'Lady. May I have the honor of your name?

[Her smile is quite warm, and for a moment, she hums the tune you were playing.]
My name is Isabella. And yours, Señor?

At your service. And I apologize if I interrupted anything with this, I'm...working on something. For a friend.

I am Prince Isabella Maria Carmen dela Vega, Lasombra, and am considered Acknowledged, Well-Connected, Resourceful, Cherished, Feared, Loyal, Trustworthy, Blooded, and Honored by the Harpies of the Camarilla.
And worry not; I was merely enjoying a drink in the solace of my rooms.

[He chuckles; she reminds him of a friend.] Are you finding your stay pleasant, then, oh modest Lady?

[Her own laughter is light but rich.] I am, for the most part, but the lack of my peers upon this ship is quite depressing. I had hoped to be joined by more of my allies, so that a proper court could be set up.
But you, sir, remind me much of my most trusted friend back home, Diveron.

[Ah, the games of courtly love, flirt and flatter, and not a bit of it meant by either side. He'd play it if it made Isabella's day brighter. It was only polite, and he was beginning to feel strange, always speaking with those who had more modern modes of speech, like Remy.]

Oh, it is not that sort of court. We merely keep the peace, and our laws apply only to our own Kinde. Our courts could never dare to compare to the tyranny and oligarchy of those you may be familiar with.
My title may sound quite powerful, but I am merely an elected official, who works with representatives. Its quite dull, I assure you, and won't bother you with it any longer.
Are you finding things alright on the ship?

But, peacekeeping! It's one of my many occupations, as a Herald. Am I then to take it that you know as little of Valdemar as I do of your own homeland?

It's...Peaceful. A place where people can reasonably expect to live their lives through in peace, without fear or tyranny.
Oh, we have wars, like any other place in the world. Conflict, people dying, babes being born. It's fair, mostly, or at least not more unfair than anywhere else. The Companions assure that our leadership remains level-headed and...and good. It's a good land.

That sounds wonderful. My home land is wrought with trouble. There is constant fighting between the different Kindes. It's distressing, but we've been at war for thousands of years; I don't foresee the bloodshed ending.

I...Oh Havens, did you say thousands?
[He's baldly appalled, that kind of continuous war changes a people and culture so drastically.]
