Helen had spent the past two weeks falling more and more in love with Will Zimmerman no matter how stupid a course of action that would prove to be. He was kind and gentle, patient and loving and she was a bloody fool for having gotten attached. No matter. She had to send him back and today was the day. Come midnight, she and Nikola would take the Source blood and apparently his power would be able to send Will home. Helen didn't really was to dwell on that terribly much but she'd always been a worrier. This was, unfortunately, no exception.
She dealt with the tedium of party planning that morning, directing hired help and bakers and gardeners all around her home in order to make the occasion special. It was just the five of them, yes, but with most of her staff off with Father and Helen incapable of cooking, she'd had to spend most of her morning making sure things simply got done. When the last of the staff was gone (the five could serve themselves), Helen caught Will in her father's library.
"Sorry. I think I've dealt with everything," Helen said, nerves creeping into her voice. "The boys won't be here until well after dark, so we have plenty of...of time together."
