Job hunting continues to slog along. Although perhaps that's the wrong adjective today. I had a very pleasant conversation this afternoon with a Sig in Dubai who might be able to help me get a more research oriented job. Lately I'd sort of given up on getting a job that would put my physics background to use, but it seems that hope never dies. I'll still concentrate on the construction industry though.
In other news, there's lots of stuff on my plate before I leave on Sunday. I've got plenty of people to meet, and very little time to do it in. I want to buy an Aussie style hat for travelling. Get some gifts (maybe a few opals). Pack my stuff and send it along to different destinations. Maybe try and go diving one last time. Plus all the tasks I'm forgetting. Friday and Saturday are still semi-open but everything else is booked. On Sunday (March 2nd) I met up with Marija Pobran. She's the half-aunt of some of my former neighbours in Toronto (still with me?). And I'll be seeing those ex-neighbours in about a week, they're the people I'll be staying with in Sri Lanka. Probably on Thursday I'll be doing some tourist stuff with Marija's daughter's family. I also did some exploring around town on Sunday and clocked up a respectable 35 km on my bike (with Total Eclipse of The Heart stuck in my head the entire time). Today (Monday) was spent doing things for Carola. And despite my sincere efforts I don't think I'll be visiting Ayers Rock, it'll take too much time/money.
