I think a person has more than one mind or more than one area/point of focus- a mind for the heart, the conscience, and for the overall thought process. I think maybe that's why people are always so torn between emotions that they feel. Their point of focus is blurred because of everything that is going through their mind[s]. You have your heart telling you what to feel-love, affection. You have your conscience telling you to do what's right or good. You have your overall thought process throwing the logic of everything you do at you, the outcomes of your actions. I think the overall thought process at times can work hand and hand with the conscience. Unless there is a battle between the conscience being good and the thought process being bad in a certain state of a person's life. That's where stress and that feeling of being a rope in a game of tug-of-war comes in. A point of focus is fighting against another to gain the dominant factor in the person's life.
