So, today has generally been a decent day. You know, I went to work, had a fairly decent time of it and then went to a friend's house for a jam session. He played the drums, I played the bass and we just kind of did stuff...loudly and obnoxiously. xD So, tonight, I was showing my dad that I could play Iron Man on my bass--and then I was telling him that my friend Sam bought a guitar and I had done the intro to Iron Man on his guitar.
I then was showing him the difference in how you play them--and all the while I'm explaining it, he's playing his DS not even paying attention to me. So, I'm essentially explaining this all to him and he isn't even paying attention--just fiddling away at his DS and tuning me out with his "Uh-huh", "Cool", "Yup" and so on and so forth.
What's my point, you may ask. My point is that even if you don't care about what your kid has to say--even if you have absolutely no interest in what they're showing you and or trying to tell you--listen, god damn it. Even if your kid isn't important to you, at least fake it and pretend they are for three minutes. It isn't that hard. What a prick. I need to move.
