NEWS (boyband sqee-age)
If you haven't already noticed, I've been recently obsessed with Asian boyz and dramas;p Well, because of the boys I get into the dramas, and then certain dramas introduce me to new boys. It's a huge cycle, and I can't get out; I don't wanna get out;p It relieves my stress, causes me stress, but most of all, it makes me happy beyond belief:)
I made a list to show you my progress through the Asian Dramas (if you care) but mostly it's a tracker for me:)
Most people don't understand my (and Frances's) attraction towards Asian men or culture, and it's hard to explain. It just seems like they've got better boys these days;p
I love the fact that the Asians cherish the little things in a relationship: they DO think that hugs and kisses are a big deal. I think that's incredibly important, because in this day and age, we have too many reckless people, who don't respect that, which I absolutely hate!
It might be in the genes, because despite the fact that I used to hate my culture, I lived it. If you know anything about me, you know I progress extremely slowly in my relationships. Hugs ARE A BIG DEAL, and I haven't been kissed yet. I'M PROUD OF THAT. Now, that doesn't mean I don't want any of that, it just means when it happens, it'll be a significant moment. And yes, I know somethings don't happen like you want them, and sometimes, the firsts aren't the greatest, but I cherish them anyways.
THAT is what I like about the Asian culture/dramas I've been immersed in. But, that doesn't mean that Asians are bland....Oh, far from that. Let me show and tell:D
Thanks to Frances for finding "Nobuta wo Produce," I have discovered the love that is Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa) and NEWS:)
[They are apart of an agency called "Johnny's Entertainment," which is the largest boy-band producing company in Japan. They also have 'Johnny Jr.s' who are younger boys in training to debut as soloists or as a group. Arashi (from my previous b/f post) is one of them:p]
Yamapi- he is such a goofy, cool, HAWT, mysterious person:)
NEWS- (basically stands for North, East, etc.) the name is derived from the fact that the boys all come from different regions of Japan, and the first band to combine other band members. Let me introduce them before I go any further in confusing you;p
From l-r: Tegoshi(21 on Nov. 11), Masuda (22 on July 4), Ryo (24 on Nov. 3), Yamapi (leader) (23 since this past April 9), Koyama (24 since this past May 1), and Kato (21 on July 11).
Don't comment saying "they look like girls," I KNOW, I've heard it before. But I don't really see it anymore, and I like it that way;p
There's a saying "They're not gay, they Johnny's." They were made to look pretty;p

Tegomassu- an offshoot of NEWS. Their songs are more innocent, love ballad type of songs-very adorable and cute!!
I know this kid only as Makoto, his character name. I found him through this obscure vampire show called "RH Plus," which is amazingly adorable. It's about these 3 young vampires under the care of an older one, and although there are many plot holes, it's just so darn cute that you keep watching;p
Fujita Rei/Ray (Michael Ray David)- I also found him through "RH Plus," and discovered that he speaks ENGLISH!! Yay! It's 'cause he's Japanese-French. You would think he'd know French, but hey, knowing English is fine with me;p
So yea- this is what I've been oggling at for the past few months: it's nice:D
NEWS is incredible, not only in looks and personality, but most importantly MUSICALLY!!!
Their songs are catchy and cute and lovely!! You might not understand Japanese, but if you're a little curious, check out the playlist on the main page- it's loaded with NEWS:p
RANT TIME:
Thank God for Yamapi!! He makes me happy:) He knows how to make a girl squeal:D There's Johnny's and then there's Yamapi; he's in a league of his own- Kame said it himself (another fellow Johnny's).
Yamapi is the former leader for the Johnny's Jrs. after Tackey and Tsubasa debuted. And he's been in Johnny's the longest of out the NEWS members.
I mean, all you have to say is, "I'm a Johnny's," and girls will go after you:p I wouldn't go for that superficiality, but I'm not gonna lie that they're not appealing. Johnny certainly knows how to pick the boys:p
Ryo
I found him first, out of all the boys, and I fell in love with his gentle nature in "One Litre of Tears." Come to find out- he is a freaking saddist. He is known to have straight-forward and harsh comments, and he's very serious about his work. That's not to say that he isn't nice; he's hilarious when he wants to be. He is very hardworking; he's currently in Kanjani8 as well, and has to participate in both bands at once.
Tegoshi
I fell in love with him next, because in the first interviews of NEWSs' debut, he was one of the youngest and the least experienced. He had only joined Johnny's for 10 months before he debuted in a group. He's very steady in his answers, and I find it cute that his sempai (someone higher in ranking he admires) was Yamashita-kun (Yamapi). He said whenever they have concerts and he has eye-contact with Yamapi backstage, he is super happy, lol. Hey, I would be happy too:p
He looked so adorable in 2003, and he still does, but he certainly has idol status now. He's portrayed as the conceited ero(tic) youngster, but he is too funny and cute sometimes too. I have to say, he's got the best voice/range out of all of them, plus he's a good harmonizer:)

Masuda
Since Tegomass was created, I fell in love with him and Tegoshi's duet project. I used to get those two confused, but it's quite clear, now, they are different. Masuda seems a little aloof, but he's very goofy too. He's got the best smile and dimples I've ever seen, lol.

Kato
I fell in love with him through the "Taiyou no Namida (Tears of the Sun)" song, because his deep baritone/bass voice is showcased in it. Despite the fact that he only has two solo lines in this song, I love it everytime it comes on. Besides that, he is left-handed and he likes cats, even though he is allergic. Because he couldn't have cats, and loved them so, he created a blog with the persona of a cat, writing about its owner, Kato's, everyday life. He's supposed to be the least
promoted member out of the group, but if anything, I probably love him the most.
Koyama
He is, by no means, the least loved. I just 'found' him last. He is probably my ideal b/f, out of all the members;p This might sound silly, but he has renewed my excitement for graduating from college. At first, I thought, "OMG, the real world, MUST POSTPONE IT!" But then, I was watching NEWS's recent tour in Japan, and the audience yelled out "congrats on graduating," to Koyama(he's the oldest, btw) and he's like "no, no, I haven't found out yet." So, the band members and the crowd immediately demanded that he grab his phone and call. He was like "omg, I'm scared. What if I didn't pass. I'd fail in front of 15,000 people, lol." As he was on the phone he was constantly saying, "this is so scary." And then, all of a sudden, "YAAAAATAAAAA:D"
That made me happy, and I'm like, "that is how I'm gonna feel...OMG."
Plus, he's like a father-figure in the band, and he seems really nice, and I find him incredibly amazing;p

This character below, Nakatsu, is having a crisis: he think he's gay, because he's falling for this guy, who's technically the female lead disguised as a guy so she could get into this school, where she could meet her high-jump idol...
It's Hana Kimi (J-version) in case you're at all interested to watch, lol.
Anyways, "Homo Janai" means "I'm not gay," so while acting like a fool, he's proven he's not gay, LOL.
Followed by......Ikuta Toma and Yamapi.
The gentleman on the left is no other than the dude you just saw in the icon above:p
Ikuta used to be a Johnny's Jr too, so you can see, him and Yamapi are good friends:)
