Tis the end of Stargate:SG-1....*WAILS*
O, I'm sure you have cried buckets of tears, and you will cry more after reading this:
Michael Shank's Blog on UnendingAnd NO, tis not really the end of the SG-1, but it's still very depressing.
Alright. I have calmed down...I must buy Season 9 and 10 soon so that I may catch up!!!!
On a side note: a very interesting thing happened to me today while at work. I was helping a customer out and when all was said and done, he says "Thank you."
Well, I reply with a, "No problem."
Then, he's about to leave, but turns around and says, "Ya know, I actually have my employees pay me a dollar whenever they say that, because 'no problem,' is not the same thing as 'you're welcome.' FYI. Yeah, Look it up on the Internet. But thank you for your help, I do appreciate it."
Um.
I was half tempted and naturally inclined to please so I was going to say, "Well, I'm sorry, I don't happen to have a dollar on me," but he left too soon, so I yelled "Well, You're welcome!" on his way out.
And really, I'm not sure if I was insulted or just lectured...or both?
I mean, I understand where he's coming from, and I totally understand the technicalities that make 'No problem' not equivalent to 'You're welcome,' but it's a slip of the tongue.
I find that quite interesting. I'm strangely, deeply moved by his comment, somehow feeling less intelligent, and perhaps that he is either a deeply respected man for upholding grammar or whatever you call it, or deeply hated for being anal....
Comments anyone?
