The Tralfamadore Song: So It Goes

sanjihan totally just made me squee with the mention of Kurt Vonegut's Slaughterhouse-Five :DDD
Ok don't laugh at me...but I remembered that I had written this tribute song to the book back in high school, because I am so cool like that, and now just feels like a good time to post it XD

I really enjoyed the chaos of the book, which mirrored that of the entropy that governs time. The Tralfamadores truly see the bigger picture in that life is a bunch of moments strung together, and no matter if we believe in fate or not, things will happen, and once they happen you can't change them. Also, it provides great insight in love and death, and how you should remember the happy moments over the bad, because that's all you'll have.

The Tralfamadore Song: So It Goes
There's only time in one moment;
No past, no present, future.
You can call it fate if you wanna give it a name,
But you can't change it, there's no free will around here.
It's all mapped out in the fourth dimension, my dear.
You'll see the blueprints in violet light and humming,
When you're dead; so it goes.

We're like spaghettis in the sky
Traveling light-years at a time,
No one sees us till it's too late.
Even if we had a chance to change,
We're still bugs stuck in amber,
And we're only moving forward.

Poo-tee-weet, singing poo-tee-weet.

There is no such thing as bad ideas
Only the most disastrous prose.
Images jumbled together to create the grander picture.
What we are are just colored strings in a frame
We're being watched in every single place
Knowing when the time comes, we'll push the red button
That ends this world; so it goes.

We're like spaghettis in the sky
Traveling light-years at a time,
No one sees us till it's too late.
Even if we had a chance to change,
We're still bugs stuck in amber,
And we're only moving forward.

People with glasses don’t see any better,
Because no one really sees what's important.
Being abducted by aliens couldn’t be avoided,
It's the only way to see things as they are, from afar.

There's only time in one moment,
No past, no present, future.
We need the jumbled versions of life to see the greater picture.
Incoherent and unnecessary the moments in between,
Because the story of one's life holds connections
To the powers that be in the fourth dimension.
Meet you on the dark side…

We're like spaghettis in the sky
Traveling light-years at a time,
No one sees us till it's too late.
Even if we had a chance to change,
We're still bugs stuck in amber,
And we're only moving forward.
Poo-tee-weet, singing poo-tee-weet.

It's been a while since I've read it and the melody has slowly faded away, but I still love this damn book and I'll give it a re-read some day ;)
