Poetry: the watchmaker hired a fumbling apprentice

the watchmaker hired a fumbling apprentice

tick-tock, tick-tock

The weary gong of a

Grandfather clock

The gentle snowfall

On leaden limbs

Dredge, dredge, dredge

(and)

tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick

The stuttered seconds of

Blurred summers quick

The far-flung lightning

On flighty cars

Flash, flicker, gone

slipping, drip, drip

life, blooming, consuming

speeding by

watchmaker, poetry
