... back home there was a guy who showed up in Camelot - Cedric - he was the worst sort of synchophant and that pleased Arthur because he's a giant prat, so he replaced me temporarily with Cedric.

But Cedric had been possessed by a sorceror who's soul had been trapped inside a crystal, and when I warned Arthur about this, he didn't believe me.

[Merlin stops to catch his breath and rolls his eyes.]

And then Cedric tried to destroy Camelot.
