OOC | Character Relationships.
And so in honor of Merlin's first month here in Adstringendum (may each one be just as rocky and painful as the last) I'm putting up his character relations chart!
Because, you know, Merlin's not completely obvious about his feelings or anything, don't be ridiculous >.>
Comment here if you want to know how Merlin feels about your character - I'll postdate it after a couple days so it stays at the top of the journal in case you feel as if Merlin hasn't had enough CR with your character now, but would like to know later, and I'll be updating it constantly, so keep checking back!

Sirius BlackSirius is James and Remus' friend, and though Merlin's had plenty of interaction between the two of them, his time with Sirius has been limited (outside of the failed rescue attempt, of which I believe neither Sirius, nor Merlin is all that eager to think about). He knows that James cares about him a great deal, and that Sirius must as well, to attempt a rescue like that, which means that Merlin certainly holds Sirius in high regard, and would like to get to know him better, but at the moment there's a good chance that Merlin won't be able to look him in the face; seeing as how he burned it and all. That new haircut looks fabulous on you, Sirius, really! Also, he wants to know how you turned into a giant dog, man, that was totally wicked awesome.

Vincent ValentineVinny is a strange little creature to Merlin and no mistake - he's just not used to being around people who don't talk, though he does take a strange sort of pleasure in conversing with Chaos, if only because he'll talk back (Merlin's got experience with possession, of course, but Chaos seems different from Sigan, even if they both do sound like they feel that they're owed something, at least Chaos appears to be taking care of Vinny, even if it is for purely selfish reasons). Merlin does like him, if only because it's very difficult for Merlin not to like someone, but that staring thing is really beginning to creep him out, man. He'll fuss at you any chance he gets though, because it seems like you're not really one to take care of yourself on your own.

Hyuuga HinataMerlin's always had a weakness for girls that he thinks need to be saved, and Hinata's soft spoken fragility reminds Merlin almost painfully of Freya so he worries about her. A lot. He wants to save her, but he feels like he has no right to, at this point, after what he's done. The fact that she seems to have forgiven him and was even worried about him afterward is incredibly reassuring, however, and she's definitely terribly special to him. He understands her wish to be able to protect herself, but he also sort of wants to wrap her up in satin and lace and hide her away from the world; he won't because he understands a woman's need to be strong, but he'll probably make her some sort of protective charm in the future regardless, because he refuses to see what happened to Freya happen to her as well.

Unohana RetsuMerlin respects Unohana greatly for her work with healing people and the fact that she seems so devoted to the task. She's been kind to him, and she's also trusted him not to make a complete mess of assisting at the clinic when he's free, and anyone who gives him a chance is always welcome and appreciated. He's going to keep dancing around going to the clinic to be treated, lest he be drugged and dragged there again, which will likely lead to a lot of stuttering and refusing to meet her eyes if confronted about it, but that's only because he doesn't want to cause her any trouble, particularly after supplying her with some new patients of his own during the empathy event. He likes the "mum" vibe that she gives off as well; he's always been an awful mama's boy.

Hyuuga Neji Neji has clearly got his shit together in Merlin's book, and the fact that he looks out for family is important to Merlin. If something like the empathy event ever happened again and Merlin was able, he would probably find a way to alert Neji of the fact because he trusts the other boy in a way to help him deal with the issue, whatever action may be necessary. He'd like to get to know Neji better outside of this event, because while he didn't dismiss what Merlin did entirely like some people (which is sweet, true, but difficult for Merlin to accept, as he is), he also didn't hold it against him. He is, on the other hand entirely, a bit terrified of whatever it was that Neji did to him during their fight, and hopes to god that he never has to go through that again because no magic? Is like not being able to breathe.

Winry RockbellThe way Merlin gets along with the girls in this place is slightly ridiculous, but then, being a not terribly macho man type, this is rather normal for Merlin. As it is, he likes Winry. He really really does. She's excitable and caring and stubborn and a million other things that make her practically his best friend for life. That is to say, Merlin has quite a lot of "best friends for life" but Winry is definitely important, the sort of person that he'd create flowers and butterflies and strawberries for, just to see her smile. Strong women have always resonated well with Merlin, but he'd probably also enjoy trying to pull out her girlish side, if he could; he likes to pamper people and girls in particular. He'd drop anything at any time if it meant helping her, even just a little bit.

Rhode KamelotTHIS. This is something that Merlin and mun alike are struggling to explain to the masses. Somewhere along the way between Rhode explaining to Merlin about ninjas and werewolves and vampires, and inviting him to come fly with her, Merlin fell ever so slightly in love with her. Being exactly the sort of boy that forgave his girlfriend for turning into a giant monster and eating people, Allen's reveal as to her true personality did nothing to dissuade him from this relationship. He knows that she's not entirely the sweet little girl that she pretends to be, he's not that derpy, but he does enjoy pampering her regardless, and he has absolutely no qualms with cuddling or carrying her or fix her crocodile scones (whatever that is) or anything else nondestructive that could possibly make her happy. In a word: WHIPPED.

Edward ElricEdward, Merlin has mostly decided by now, is weird. He knows that most guys have trouble saying what they mean, but Edward seems to fluctuate from one extreme to the other without warning, and it's beginning to leave Merlin reeling (though that may be the concussion talking). He's got this terrible feeling that he's about to get dragged into something like he and Arthur had back home, where an insult meant that he was worried about you and yelling was the only real way to communicate, but at this point he's mostly just confused as to where he stands with the other boy. He wouldn't mind becoming friends, and he really wouldn't mind a spot of yelling now and again either because he's missed it in a strange way, but if you try and carry him, Ed, he will set your hair on fire.

Mitarashi AnkoNervous. Nervous is a very good word to describe how Merlin feels about Anko. Apparently she doesn't know about Merlin's relationship with Rhode, or his hand in her rescue, but he's not counting on that staying that way for long, and the temper and violence that she's exhibited across the network when there was no one around to focus her rage on is enough to make him ever so slightly terrified of what will happen when she does. It's not that he might not be able to hold his own against her really, he wouldn't know that for sure until it came down to it; it's the fact that he's pretty sure he couldn't actually bring himself to attack her, even in self defense. She has a reason to be angry, after all. He doesn't blame her for that. Doesn't mean that he won't be very careful around her in the future, though.

Hitsugaya ToushirouHitsugaya's probably one of the few people in Adstringendum that Merlin has met and doesn't like. It's nothing personal to you, Hitsu, but you did try and kill Rhode, and Merlin's always been fantastically protective of the people he cares about. On the other hand, he knows that Rhode did bad things as well, he just doesn't think that killing her would have solved anything. He's been avoiding calling attention to himself when it comes to Hitsugaya, because he's still angry at him, but if the opportunity came up in the future for the two of them to really talk, Merlin would probably take it. If, on the other hand, Hitsugaya ever attacked Rhode again, Merlin also wouldn't hesitate in trying to destroy him. They're at the top of a hill right now, metaphorically, and they could tumble down either way. Only time will tell for sure.

Killua ZoldyckHe doesn't dislike Killua, really! He's still a bit doubtful about this "guys liking other guys" thing but he'll take Killua's word for it for now until he can ask someone else to confirm it, and dodgeball really doesn't sound as much fun as Killua seems to find it, but he'll give that a try as well. He thinks Killua seems to like to argue for the sake of arguing sometimes, and treats "feelings" like some sort of plague, but don't all boys? Mostly, he feels that he still needs to get to know Killua better, so he'll poke and prod and take any side-handed insults with a grain of salt because he's sort of decided that Killua might need help making friends, or at least, that one must look past the gruff exterior to become his friend, which Merlin has quite a lot of experience in. He's not going to stop talking about his feelings though so suck it up.
