Be Still, My Heart
Having a heartbeat is something really intrinsic to being human. I guess this technology can help same peoples lives and improve quality of living (supposedly this can give normal activity levels to people who would otherwise be bedridden) but how weird would it be to not have a heart beat? Its something thats with you from birth... I wonder if there would be any psychological effects to prolonged use? I guess this is only intended for people with failign hearts, but how weird woudl it be to be 2 years old, you put your ear to GrandPas chest and hear a whiring washing machiene instead of the lub-dub of beating heart?
