[[From Here]]

Dim lights, music in the background. Two people in bed, relaxing after a long night of... discoveries and explorations.

Yes, Lobo can be a very nice guy.

Just most of the time, he prefers not to be; but fear not, this is one of those special occasions.

Now, it is time to explain why it was a bad idea.

You see, Lobo is the Main Man, because his czarnian phisiology allows him to counter and match any force thrown at him, up to a certain level.

It means? He can be as fast as the dragonlings. And swat them away with just enough force to stun, but not to hurt. Faster than a man his size has any right to be, he swats away the first attack, and slides out of bed, grabbing his goober gun from its place in the corner.

Goober guns are similar to hi-tech paintballs. Lobo got one for the occasions where he gets a very good 'alive and intact' bounty: they shoot pellets of mildly nanomotile glue, that can detect buildups of gases related to the most common types of respiration. Shots covering a respiratory opening will migrate away, allowing the target to breathe. So, attacking dragons face the prospect of ending like balls of glue on the floor, very immobilized.

Usually Lobo would just kill the pests, but he is in a good mood after the night, so he will go for capture and shut up.

Yeah, yeah, mister softy. Of course, he will probably get his fair share of bites, claws and other injuries, but he heals at a frightening rate.

Hopefully, after a few minutes, the mess is over, and with some luck, Melony was not hurt nor startled from sleep.

But the firelizards have something on their side. They have an ability to go between in the blink of an eye. They spend half their lives dodging things flying at them ment to kill them that the little ones know fairly well how to doge an when to go to between.

Well, Beauty, the bronze and the browns do. The greens and Uncle are swated. Their mental cries wake Menolly up and she shouts, "NO!" without really knowing what is going on.

The fire lizards continue to attack, making sure to go between if ever there is a chane that they would be hit by the flying things or get physicly swatted.

Lobo grumbles... after packing those he can hit... he sets down his gun, crosses arms, and lets the fire dragons do their worse. If they want to up the ante, lets let Melony see they attacking Lobo, who is not fighting back.

Menolly is out of bed in an instant, standing in front of Lobo, and keeping the lizards from attacking.

"Beauty! STOP!" The dragonlings cease, but their eyes continue to spin a very pale yellow at high speeds. Beauty lands on Menolly's sholder and begins to chatter. Her tail clamps tightly and the girl has to physicaly lossen it.

"It's okay, he's a friend..." A loud chirp from Beauty says quite plainly that she doubts this. Menolly just shake her head as she kneels by Aunty One.

"What happened?" This to Lobo as she tends to the green.

"They appeared, and attacked, I tried to hold them down." Interesting, the glue holding a few dragonlings can be easily opened... from the outside.

Menolly begins to peel the glue off of Aunty One. Diver and Brownie beging to pick at Uncle and Mimic and Rockey at Aunty two. Soon all three of them are free and in Menolly's arms. It's about that time that she realizes she's not dressed... and neither is he.

Beauty hisses from her place on Menolly's sholder. "I am sorry, They are very protective... I should have thought of this."

"Protective enough to attack me, while I was close to you..." Lobo shakes head, examining a still-bleeding wound.

She sighs and continues to reassure the fire lizards. They would need quite a bit of TLC after this. All nine of them would, but these three the most.

"They thought you were hurting me."

"They don't think much." He eyes the wound, and the blood actually... flows back into the wound, flesh reknits, and skin mends. "Dey are lucky I did not get really mad."

"They're just children..." Her constant reassurance seems to be doing little, though the speed of the yellow eyes spin has reduced... a little. "They're all emotion. And Milliways confuses them."

A robe appears on the edge of her vision, being offered.

Menolly takes it, gladly, and wraps it around her sholders. "Thank you..." She's finaly managed to calm them completly. No longer are they shaking, but they refuse to leave.

"The only time I have ever seen them this afraid was durring Threadfall."

"Yeah." He eyes the dragonlings. "Dey have guts, thats good. They are assuming things about the Main Man, dat's bad. Often, deadly bad."

Then... "Ye all should come see something." He moves to his pants.

Loose one of the firelizards? Menolly rather thinks she would die first. She stands, the three smallest dragonlings in her arms and Beauty upon her sholder.

"Okay..."

Lobo actually moves to the window, opening, it looking out... and letting a long, loud whistle, as calling for something.

Menolly manages to convince the three to stay on the couch, as she ties the robe more firmly around her and makes her way to Lobo's side.
