I first got pointed to the Lefsetz Letter in January
by Idolator and it's since become another of the (many) blogs I read regularly, because it's a unique1 take on the decline of the music industry (read: a non-screed, written by someone with actual knowledge of the workings of the business, who actually pays for his music). But sometimes he gets personal and the blog gets weird. And then sometimes, like
when he was writing about Bruce Springsteen yesterday, he gets really personal:
On my first date with my ex-wife, I took her downstairs in the fading light to the living room of the Sanctuary house. Where I fired up "Candy’s Room" on Rod Smallwood’s cassette. We stood there in silence. Later that evening, I found myself with my fingers in her cake. She returned to her boyfriend after breakfast and by the next day she was mine.
Thanks Bob.
1You have no idea how hard it was for me not to put an adjective of extent before "unique"
