Why is cat piss such an insidious material?..

Seriously!..it gets into and destroys EVERYTHING it touches! Our Miso (the good one) has decided to start pissing in every corner of our house... wouldn't be so bad if she would just choose corners that don't have stuff in them. She destroyed a couple of CD's this time...one of which was a CD of WEDDING PICTURES!!!!! (I will kill this cat...if she wasn't so damn cute...and the CD of pictures was a duplicate copy, at least it better be...) Also, the amount of urine is astronomical for a cat! The most recent clump we pulled out of her litter box was very literally, the size of a regular fireplace brick! I think she averages about 1 FULL cup (volumetric) of urine passed per shot. She actually pissed THROUGH the floor from the upstairs, that started dripping into the kitchen downstairs...with one urination. Jesus Christ!

I should mention that she has NEVER done this until just a couple of months ago (and she is nearly 10 years old) and she seems to be in great health! No strange aloofness, still plenty of weight, as snuggly as ever and eats plenty. The biggest change in her life has been the unwanted (even for us) arrival of my mother's cat, Juniper. Miso simply will not get along with this other cat.

She has also recently taken to licking the bottom of the shower after anyone uses it...she practically busts down the door to get in after the shower is turned off.

I'm nearly at my wits end with this dilemma. We can not have this cat pissing in every corner after the new walls go up. This is already causing a considerable amount of damage to our home. I fear that this may lead to us finding new homes for both of our cats...even if it means the dreaded Humane Society (and I only say dreaded until they truly become a no- kill shelter) ...any other suggestions?
