Lost track of our storms already. Last Wednesday, the 12th, we had Benedict, who dumped 20-plus inches of snow over the entire state. Meriden recorded 29 inches, so that would be close to Middlefield's total. Was it the Friday before that we got 9 inches of snow? Sounds right. Last night we got 3 inches of fresh snow with ice and sleet on top. Slow trip into work, just about an hour. This coming Friday, according to Dr. Mel, we're expecting a nor'easter. (Upgraded from "snow showers".)
On New Year's Day Rich and I went to Quality Subaru in Wallingford and picked out a little burgundy-colored 2010 Impreza. All-wheel drive is the only way to go when winter is like this. That Friday afternoon (it was the 7th, I remember now) we drove home together for the first time. Took almost 3 hours. There were a few inches of snow on the driveway, but we made it with no problems. "I LOVE THIS CAR!" Rich yelled at the end of the trip. Me too.
Going to try keeping track of storms here. See how long that lasts.
Yesterday, MLK Day, went to see "The King's Speech" with Will, Dan and Helen. Very moving.
