Sen. Levin,
I am writing to express my severe dismay at what seems to be the destruction of Americans constitutional rights. The Bush administrations attacks on the constitution, such as the detaining and torture of "enemy combatants," and the warrantless wiretaps, are outright assaults on our freedoms. The houses passing of the "Violent Radicalisation and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act" seems to also now implicate the Congress in this administrations attempts at moving America towards facism. I'm sure you are aware that this bill will allow US citizens to be classified as "enemy combatants" subject to the same detainment and torture. It is also a deathblow to protected free speech. As one of the most powerful members of Congress and my senator I must with the greatest urgency insist that you stop the violent radicalisation and homegrown terrorism prevention act in the senate, and that you move to impeach President Bush, Vice President Richard Cheyney, and bring them to trial for treason. I am certain that the Congress failure to do so will signal to the American people that they have sided with those who wish to undermine our constitution, and destroy our liberty. Come 2008 the American people will side with those politicians who have enforced the rule of law, and stood with the high cause of freedom.
