i actually didn't think OOTP was a bad movie. but then that particular book was my least favorite of the series. i felt like it was one long torturous instance after another. harry was frustrating, umbridge was absolutely evil... i don't know, i just had a hard time reading that one (i've only reread it one other time). i did think a few things were confusing though. the movie made it look like cho was the one who squealed on dumbledore's army, but wasn't it her friend marietta? and didn't hermione put a charm on the "contract" to leave a mark on the person who tattled? i don't see how this one little detail could've been left from the movie. although when i watched it i was kind of sick and kept leaving the theater so maybe i missed something. i do wish there was a little more to the occlumency lessons with snape, i thought those were extremely important to the novel, and harry's reaction to seeing his father in that light. so very important...
i may be in the minority, but i actually liked the GoF movie the best. even though the whole dragon scene was WAY too long, i enjoyed the humor in it, and it felt fairly easy to follow along. while i liked PoA, i felt the ending was very difficult to follow. even rewatching i'm not sure everything was explained fully. and i can't even remember if the original "marauders" were ever revealed in the movie? i loved the whole marauder's map part of the actual book and felt that there was a bit left out of the movie to explain where this idea came from, and PoA was a relatively short novel compared to all others after. i did, however, really like how different that movie felt from the previous two (which were way too "kiddy" for my taste).
chad (my bf) really liked the fifth movie though, said it was his favorite. i liked many of the special effects, and i thought dan radcliffe had improved enormously as an actor. but i was really hoping for more of fred and george's rebellion (that is my favorite scene of the entire series so far!!!), and even though it's a small detail, i'm still miffed at the absence of peeves in all of the movies. it's not like he has a lot of lines, why couldn't they just toss him in for crying out loud? that poltergeist cracks me up....
